- What are you looking for?
- What am I looking for? I would like to find about a half dozen people who would dedicate a couple of Saturdays every month to role-play. Actually, I would like to game every Saturday but I would settle for every other weekend.
Playing every Saturday from after noon to before bed would be cool, can’t imagine it would actually happen like that, people do need to do other things besides role-play, not sure what could be more important than rp, but I suppose there are those other things. Ok, twice a month if that is the best I can get.
The rules are easy enough for a first time role-player to pick up the first day and allow a seasoned role-player to really develop a character and move the story along. The rules do not cost anyone $40 a month to keep current, and do not require reading and memorizing that $40 book before showing up to play. The rules are also flexible enough to do stuff that you just think up.
Role playing is sort of important to me, after all it is called a role playing game. But without the friction between the world and the players there is not enough excitement for most players, besides, I enjoy the monsters in my world, they are not typical.
About Me

- Ken, lol, whatelse?
- Biography
- My first game was in 84 during college when I was almost thirty. It was with some of the guys who were majoring in Drama. Some of them were very good actors. When they played the D and D game they became their character. They also dressed the part and the room looked like a room in a dungeon, a dark basement with stones for walls and candles all over the place. They had real chain mail and breast plates, robes and walking sticks, I totally got into it. My character died every game for several weeks.
Finally, one of the guys took pity on me and asked me to join a different role-playing game. This one was a Sci-fi game called Traveler. I think I rolled up about ten characters that night and they all died before I could play them. I am sure I scratched my head at this but we finally cheated and made a character that I played for several months. This was more fun than I had ever had playing board games. Later we started to play the Star Frontiers rules, which was a simpler and faster game. Still we played our Traveler game just the same, same characters on the same planet doing the same mischief.
When I graduated I took the rules I had and went home, found a group of guys who played DnD 2nd. Ed. We played Fridays after work until Sunday mornings many times. Was a great group of guys. Then this girl that I knew asked to join us, she brought her friend. Funny thing was the group really didn’t change much except we did become a more social group. We got together for beers and darts, pizza, movies all manner of entertainment any day of the week. We became a family of brothers and sisters. Was a great time, but I moved.
The girl who had been my friend became my best friend, and we got married. We continued to play together and joined several groups, and many different games, and had two kids. We still game, a lot. And we are still married.
The press is our chief ideological weapon.

This week I have had contact with two more gamers who wish to join the game. If these two actually join those who have played last time we would have five players. Five is a good number to play and I would be totally happy with this. My problem is I can't contact David except via Facebook. He is not exactly into FB so I have not had any contact with him since the last game. He was punctual and an excellent role player. After the game he even went home and posted how excited he was about the
