well, the play by post section is one possible starting point, the chat is fairly popular (though might require slightly thicker skin as some of the frequent chatters are a bit temperamental...) there are also sections for specific genres. i suppose it depends on what you are already familiar with,...

hmmmm. a lot of people use our gamer database, even if they are not active on the forums. while we are a good site to find an online game, or to find online players for pickup games, and occasionally local players too; there are a number of other sites you should be aware of:

well, since we're throwing links around, here are the 9 books given away by WOTC for free (3rd edition D&D). The all-in-one zip file is at the very bottom of the page, just scroll down - it's about 2 megs. these are text files, mind, and split up by chapter and section, roughly.

OD&D or the more modern versions of Chainmail are great for very old school blast from the past play - simple if arbitrary options; and much is left up to player interpretation. 1st and 2nd ed are not quite the same beast, but are still good for a grognard experience, with 2nd being the more...

Barur walks cautiously toward the bracken, paying attention to the area around him. Though he had grown up in Illethkeep and was a bit more awre of the outside realm, he still was young and truth be told a healthy fear of the unknown. Reaching down he retrieved a small animal that held his deadly...

hmmm, i pulled that off the single combat vs dragon bit, only i think i was level 8 and it was a blue dragon, a step or two higher than an adult though. of course, i put a lot of prep into it, and i think the combat lasted three or four rounds. but i won, if barely. ^^

personally i've always wanted to look good in a cape. ^^ based on my limited experiences and opportunities, i believe i favor the more victorian era opera capes, sometimes combined with a trench coat. somewhat holmesian or steampunk, i understand.

i have had an interesting historical background in roleplaying... i was raised, and am, a Christian. my first gaming group was run by an elder in the church, with a bunch of deacons, teachers, priests, and other young men as gaming companions. most of my gaming companions have been, if not...

The leader goes down, dead or unconscious... at any rate he does not reply. After a few moments, the one who went to ground the fastest pokes his hand over his cover, and waves a dirty bit of cloth... after a moment you see that it is his shirt. "Go in peace. I thought this was a bad idea the...

yes, i am aware of the third party products for pathfinder. my issue is that that there is no first party support for psionics, which may be a meaningless distinction for some, but not for me. it may sound weird, but i will only play games that support psionics within the context of the...

well, i've found my comfortable niche - that being psionics; so unless 5th ed support psionics, i am unlikely to play it. which saddens me as i really wanted to try out pathfinder too, but they don't support psionics in core. i did find it amusing that they are trying to mix in simplicity of...

It's more a reference to the group than the game. We play Shadowrun and occasionally we'll play a session or two of Paranoia. Last week we finished Me and My Shadow Mark IV for instance.

I recently got Changeling the Lost and am curious enough to give it a try, even more interested in Reign. I'd love to try Don't Rest Your Head, Prime Time Adventures, Dogs in the Vineyard and other games in this vein, but I know it's a tough sell. I don't play D&D but would give a try to other games.
About Me
I'm in my thirties. I'm looking for adult players/group of players.
