What are you looking for?:

I'm looking for adult D&D/AD&D players/DMs in Warren County NJ and its immediate vicinity to start a group. I'm not interested in anything newer than AD&D 2E. Vast experience is not required but good intentions are. Looking for mature, social, and easy going players/DMs that just want to have a good time and have some laughs without being rude, or quoting from reference books. Good manners and group cohesiveness are vital characteristics for potential members.
My style is uncomplicated and usually with an emphasis on action, combat, magic, atmosphere, and character development. I don't get bogged down in rules, mostly because I can't remember them anyway. I prefer campaign settings with start-up characters that are carefully crafted by thoughtful players who want to see their characters advance levels over time. However, hack-and-slashers can enjoy the occasional one-shot or module, if interested.
I favor starting campaigns within familiar settings like Forgotten Realms or within my own setting, depending on what the group prefers. It would be very cool to have other members who like to run a campaign or module from time to time as well.

Biography:

I'm 41, married, a father, and I've been playing AD&D for over 25 years. Started with D&D then quickly got into AD&D, have all the 1e reference books, some modules, and original Forgotten Realms. Never wanted to move on to 2e or 3e, partly because I can't be bothered. I've GMed Star Frontiers, and Judge Dredd. I have MERP but never played, it looked cumbersome. I used to play AD&D weekly in high school, less frequently in college, and a few times a year since then. I still get together with old friends in a Forgotten Realms campaign started 24 years ago.
