I'm fairly flexible about new genres or game worlds, but ones that lean tastefully towards fantasy. Like I mentioned above, 50% roleplaying and 50% combat sounds like a good balance, but it's not a hard and set rule (as long as it's not 100% combat - otherwise I could just play a computer game). I appreciate a good story and a DM that allows players to act creatively.
In my 20s, just graduated from a Masters program in USC. I have some recent experience playing 4e D&D from gaming conventions. Also, I've played 3.5e D&D very casually for at least 6 years, and by this I mean none of the campaigns I was in lasted more than four sessions. :P However, I am by no means a beginner, as I'm familiar with the basic rules. I'm not a full-blown thespian, but I still enjoy roleplaying aspects.
