What are you looking for?:
I would like to start a group in the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. For many years I routinely drove round-trip to Knoxville to game, but I'm just too tired for that.

As a game master, I prefer Savage Worlds for the game engine: I think it has enough crunch to be interesting but not so much as to become frustrating. I tend run gritty games: medium-hard SF with Firefly-like ECMs (Ethically Challenged Merchants) or low-magic Harn (mercs whose simple jobs get complicated).

As a player, I tend to prefer darker themes over lighter ones. Being something of a student of history, I have a very hard time believing in a real (as opposed to fake) utopia. Even when I play a paladin, he usually ends up spending a lot of time sorting through various shades of gray.
About Me
Biography:
My first RPG experience was in the Air Force in Germany back in the early 80s, where I was introduced to 2nd Edition (Big Red Devil DMG) D&D by a dormmate. I moved from there to Classic Traveller and Then on to many other games: Gammaworld, Twilight:2000, various WoD games (really liked Changling) and especially GURPS (in many different settings). But in recent years, I've become tired of dealing with complex game mechanics and I'm now a firm believer in Savage Worlds. Currently, I'm running two different play-by-post SF games on-line using SW, but I would really prefer to play face-to-face.
