What are you looking for?

I'm a recent arrival to the area (on Capitol Hill in NE). I moved from Minneapolis, where I lived for a year and found a couple of good gaming friends but unfortunately, not a good game. They were in a state of flux when I joined them, and then the GM got pregnant. I took over the campaign and then discovered I needed to move a few weeks later. I'm actually from NC, and I was part of a faithful, regular 3.5 (previously 3.0) campaign that was really fantastic. I GM'd it for a long while, but then I turned it over to a friend, and he was awesome. Really immersive story and lots of roleplaying. I miss having a steady, friendly, intelligent group and am looking around for one up here.

Biography

Me: 31yo recent Ph.D. new to DC, looking for an editing/web design/non-profit/instructional support job. I like mostly high fantasy but am willing to be lured to sci fi or horror. I've got lots of the 3.5 books and have been playing since the release of 3.0 (and didn't play before simply because my small town in eastern NC didn't support the hobby well). I read a lot, watch a lot of tv, and like to cook goodies for my gaming group. I like a mix of roleplaying, puzzles, and monster-thwacking. I'm free most nights (well, I don't have a set schedule yet) and almost all weekend days. I like long sessions, but short ones can be good if well prepared and tight.
