!: A Cards and Dice pen and paper RPG styled after anime or video games. 2: A simple idea being bounced between me and a friend that grew. 3: The Idea of Cards (ability cards) and spells and abilities being an assemblage of multiple cards. 4:I have it but I'm not ready to unveil at the moment....

Yes I was thinking of a movie called "Stardust" and there was a druid that had to throw rocks up to foretell the future of a prince. Later the prince saw that it was a hoax as the druid was a spy for another prince (his brother). Funny movie but the ideas of throwing rocks or bones goes back to...

wow colored rocks idea might be a good alternative for a game I'm working on actually. There are multiple types of abilities and defenses as well as terrain battle effect. You could have a rating say 1 -10 and you put into a battle cup your ability stone. Then in goes your opponents defense stones...

Hi Falinxelote good to see you. Well let us see here. A lot of questions! What are your criteria for selecting a system? I personally enjoy reading the many different systems that have been published, but personally prefer to just make my own game system from scratch. Why? I think just...

I thought of another question, Is there a mechanic that could replace dice? Like lock picking by solving a maze puzzle.

What are your criteria for selecting a system? Dice, character ability, play-ability, rules, etc... I know a lot of folks on this site like rules lite but what constitutes a good rules lite system? What makes it rules lite but not skimping on the right details? What would you like to see in a...

I have also asked these questions in the past. The only way I would find out is by trying to host such a game. This is what I have learned from it so far. 1. Only host to a group that is genuinely interested in pacifism otherwise it will not work. 2. Keep the roleplayers occupied with...

In my homebrew game I provide the possibility to live a peaceful life in a hard time. I show that one can contribute to society without having to be an adventurer killing monsters to protect a town. How? - start with an apprenticeship and have them build to be master of a skill to eventually own...

So I have a confession to make. I've played iron claw but its not my favorite system. I'm not a big fan of heavy reliance on just dice. I prefer a system with lots of progression room. And a balance between randomness and set values.

I have used Buddhism in a fantasy setting that rewards experience points to resolve conflicts not using violence as an alternative. The roleplayer can however, use self defense methods, but not violence to overcome an opponent. The experience was wonderful as the interested roleplayers used the...

I went through the same stuff over the last 11 years. I started trying to write a game to be my perfect vision of gaming. Eventually ditched the whole thing 6 years on. and recently started with a simpler system of rules and even went back to class structure(which i was utterly opposed to.) I think...

good input, I defiantly see the character sheet needing to do the math. That is the biggest benefit of using a computerized character sheet, as far as i can tell at least. Well that and a lower chance of loosing the character sheet.

I've been writing a few apps for various games. I was thinking of trying to save the trees and switch my group over to editable PDF's for character sheets. All our game books are opensource documents and web pages. So, everyone in the group has a smartphone, tablet, or laptop they already bring to...

A number of games have used cards for quick reference. AD&D used spell cards to make it easier to have the details of your spells. Savage worlds uses playing cards as initiative. I was wondering what the opinion of using these was? How many people actually use the spell cards or playing card...

About Me
Real Name:
Jenni
Biography:
I played talisman as a kid and I still enjoy it today. I used to make characters using GURPS and draw them on paper for fun. I do a lot of artwork and sometimes I like to include that in my character creation for some games. I have also attended the SCA(The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.) since I was 5 years old with family of course, so I have a lot of background in role playing. A few years ago a friend of mine let me join in on a few D&D games with some others and I really had a lot of fun, so I am looking forward to exploring more in to it.
