Wow, some people take things way too seriously. I could never torture my dice like that, imagine how poorly they'd roll afterwards?

Trash it with supplemental material? How can you not like supplemental material?

This makes me want to roll every dice I have with an excel spreadsheet ready to record and find their averages. Which, I guess, means "yes" we believe in diminishing probability? If you have a record of the last 50 rolls of a dice, and are familiar with the results before rolling, and you feel...

Does that actually exist? Well... apparently so. Interesting way to adjust the probability of a roll. But after a few bored moments of staring at d20's I think they're built against that type of thing. The 2 and 8 sides are next to the 20. It might be possible to use Dice Control on a...

Some people have that special dice that most recently rolled a NAT 1, meaning its less likely to roll a 1 again in the future because the odds that it rolls 1 twice are 1/400 right? How true is that, or is it just superstition? This is basically the same as the old "flip a coin three times"...

Simpler. Basically "an armor by any other name would still add +X Defense, so why do we have a bunch of tables listing various armor names and the one point of difference between them when not naming them would work just as well, save page space in print, and be easier to record on a character...

This is the plan. I'd rather not have three separate boxes on a character sheet for Slashing, Bashing, and Piercing defense. I'd rather give armor a Damage Reduction to the one(s) its resistant to and keep it simple. (Same for damage types like Fire / Arcane / Acid etc.)

you could easily give the armor with say high resistance to piercing damage a few points of damage reduction or have it cause an attack penalty so you don't have to compare a bunch of different AR values. Just modify what the bonus does a little and you still get your realism without a lot of rules

Like I mentioned in the second post, incorporating specific protections against damage types isn't hard with the proposed rules-lite version, and was of course going to be included either way. Realism is a good place to start, but when it gets in the way of function it can be sacrificed without...

Well that (the specific damage type protection) is still applicable. Generic armor that provides only a +# AR would be the standard, but also available would be armors that provide damage redcution from certain types of attacks. Bashing, Slashing, Fire, Acid, and so on. So you're not missing out on...

So in D&D and however many other RPGs there are a plethora of armors, not really much different from one another. Scale Mail. Breastplate, and Banded Mail all have their "how they were made and what of" text blocks, but statistically the armor rating difference is usually by one point. So why even...

There's PLENTY of good material in there. SCP-093 and the various "color" tests made with it could probably last long enough to play a handful of sessions at least, or even be a full campaign on its own.

Sucks, but I'm glad it's not an issue on my end. Unless this is all some elaborate ruse put on by you, the most cowardly of rogues. Or the most roguish of cowards... I can't tell sometimes.

Am I alone in this? The flashchat page only loads "Having trouble? Try HTML 5." Which says the page is unavailable.

Hey, fellow adventurers! Quick question, just to maybe save time... what was our party's plan, again? We left Judaerif behind, we're not going to Rience. I recall we're going west, but are we headed straight into the Devilwoods or was there some other plan I've forgotten about? If not, any...

Wondering if anyone has used any monsters from the SCP Foundation page in a game yet, and if you have, how it went. If you don't know the SCP, think of it like an Area 51 or Men in Black of sorts. Tracking and containing the supernatural and dangerous beings in our world and keeping them...

Dark Days in Sion is on Hiatus It pains me to say it but I have to put this game on Hiatus for a while... with full time work and school I've barely had time to turn on my computer much less do any writing. At the end of this semester I will see about getting something going again, but probably...

Those are great ideas, Palpatim! I'll probably post Orthrum's actions publicly, too, if Umiushi doesn't mind. (And also once I've actually decided what all those actions are). I do have a question, Umiushi: that horrifying tower of burning corpses we fought on the ruins of Norin Trugvad... did...

About Me
Real Name:
Jenni
Biography:
I played talisman as a kid and I still enjoy it today. I used to make characters using GURPS and draw them on paper for fun. I do a lot of artwork and sometimes I like to include that in my character creation for some games. I have also attended the SCA(The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.) since I was 5 years old with family of course, so I have a lot of background in role playing. A few years ago a friend of mine let me join in on a few D&D games with some others and I really had a lot of fun, so I am looking forward to exploring more in to it.
