About Me
Real Name:
Heath (Heat!)
Biography:
I got hooked on the RPG hobby by my best-friend's parents when I was still in grade school. AD&D 1st Edition. Then we started buying the 2nd Edition books (cause that's what was in print by the time we were old enough to have money haha) and basically just combined the two. There were things we liked about 1st Ed (Like the Assassin class and half-orcs), and stuff we liked about 2nd Edition (customizeable theif's skills). So I guess you could say I've been kit-bashing systems, and following Gary's First Rule, since the beginning.

I guess you could say I qualify as a "mature gamer" at this point. I'm 30 years old and have been playing RPGs for most of that time. Already been through the "all dungeons, all the time" phase, the munchkin phase, the rules lawyer phase (3rd Ed D&D made us all rules lawyers, though), the roleplay only-combat is dumb phase... The list goes on. =) At this point I just like going on adventures and telling neat stories.

I've recently decided that *as a rules system* Legend of the Five Rings is the most simple, elegant and customizeable game I've ever come across. I don't have much interest in Mythical Ancient Japan, but some friends and I just spent the last 6 months playing a Conan based game using their system and it's simply awesome.

The obligitory game list: (this is stuff I've played, I'm always down to learn a new system though, and I've always wanted to try Alternity)
