LFG - fairly new player looking for a mixed combat/ role-playing fantasy game with 2-4 other players (and a GM); preference for more role-playing over more combat. I do find action to be lots of fun, though, and don't think I'd enjoy 100% role-playing political intrigue shenanigans. Slight preference for starting out a low to lowish level character, strong preference for something less grim than Call of Cthulhu everyone-dies-or-goes-nuts style. Weekly sessions of 3-4 hours ideal, weekday evenings (S-Th 6-11pm) ideal, weekend afternoons maybe workable. Pathfinder or D&D preferred, GURPS? Am in Porter Square area and have no car; game must be accessible by public transportation or by feet. Have 2 friends, 1 quite interested, 1 somewhat interested, whom I could poke about joining a game with me, but are too shy to use something like this site and may say no, anyway. Could possibly host.
About Me
Biography
I've only been able to play on and off for the past couple years, but I'm looking forward to a lifestyle switch that gives me more time so I'm hopeful about joining a group. I've basically loved mystery, sci-fi, and fantasy literature since I've been literate, and like the create-your-own-adventure-ness of role-playing. As for what I've played: D&D 4e, first game ever and maybe longest; GURPS, 1 1-shot; Pathfinder, 1 campaign of several weeks, 1 3-shot, 2 1-shots, iron GM style; and D&D 3.5, 1 curtailed short campaign (GM ran out of free time). NO GM-ing experience, would maybe like to try... but not yet.
I should possibly note that I studied a bit of late medieval and early modern european history. This can either be a good or a bad thing. =p
