This is true, and incorporating immediate events and environment and "props" into description, for both player and GM, can really spice things up and breathe life into a combat, action or even investigation scene. I always encourage my players to include details even if I didn't mention them, if...

You can always do lots of things to change rules or ignore rules or make houserules or only vaguely reference them occasionally, with any game, of course. Thie topic is about the rules-as-written and where they seem to me to be fundamentlally flawed in most cases. Of course like anything else it is...

Awesome to hear from someone there! Does it tend to be very inter-cultural there or is it cliques, both game and language-wise? Like, does your community have various people in it or languages, or is it English only, etc? It's rare to hear about gaming from places so little known.

Welcome Nicholar. I was a fan of WFRP1 and 2 and made some homemade fan stuff for it (ship sheets, potion tables, an adventure called Winter's Cold Heart). It was and still is my local group's go-to for fantasy gaming on the rare occasions we meet anymore. I never played 3, I kinda like the look of...

    the average or exact half of d10 (10) is 5.5. 5.5 x6 = 33. 33 +12 = 45 =)

I'd just like to say hi and spread the word of some other resources to try to find others with similar interests in the region. Maybe even find some players.

What are you looking for?:
Looking for players who are looking to play the kind of game that tells a good story. Ideal players are ones that don't let the rules or rule systems get in the way of having a good game. Would like to find players who can tap into their sense of wonder and adventure. Not looking for players who feel the night was wasted if they didn't gain three levels. Should be open to playing multiple game systems, and willing to try new ones.
About Me
Biography:
Been playing for a little over 30 years, starting with D&D (you know, the boxed sets where you had to fill in the numbers on the dice with a crayon? Remember, kids?) Prefer making my own adventures and campaigns, customizing to fit my group. Never use modules. I have a big oak table with room for me and up to six players, right near my RPG library. And wouldn't mind sitting on the other side of the screen once in a while.

New Games and Old

by Dalkiel on 12-25-2012 at 02:38 PM
I've played a fair number of RPGs. I've got the books for dozens of different games, and tend to be a completest when I decide to add a game to the group repertoire. But with the huge number of games on the shelf, and the wide range of genres they represent, it's becoming rarer that I stumble on a game (new or old) that I feel brings anything new to the table. For example, I don't feel there's much that would be offered by the myriad of fantasy RPGs that seem to come out every year. I have

The Loss of a Good Friend and Fellow Gamer...

by Dalkiel on 10-27-2012 at 02:41 PM
We got quite the shock this past Friday. We had assembled for the weekly game, getting ready to play, and were waiting on one player, a fellow named Dave. We didn't think much about it at the time. The player was always at least on time, usually early. We also were aware of a large deployment of power company vehicles along his route, and expected he might have hit traffic and/or turned around to use an alternate route. But after an hour passed we started to worry, and I called his house number

The Reluctant Gamer

by Dalkiel on 02-20-2012 at 10:08 PM
I've been noticing more and more that gamers tend to focus on one game, and one game only. They may be a fan of literature or movies that span several genres (Fantasy, SciFi, Cyberpunk, Post Apocalypse, etc) but will only play one genre. And sometimes these players will go so far as to dismiss, or express disgust over, the other genres in context of gaming. Players and GMs alike find themselves frustrated when confronted with a gamer like this, and find themselves equally at a loss in finding a
