"I do not know if he still lives... It is too hard to see up there, but we must help the others right now and worry about that after!" She says in response to Purusartha. {Emiko focuses her attention back to the Vulkyrie she hit before, and blasts it once again with her flames.} (Attack Roll...

Your comment just abruptly cuts off but that's a good sample of what you're doing. I'd agree, unless you wanted to add in something to introduce randomness, maybe just for an event that happens, simple choices are probably the best and that looks like a good start. You'd want to plan out your...

I still lean toward suggesting you at least looking at Wushu (linked above), if for no other reason than to get some ideas of how it approaches play - it is a free, very simple (for them, but really for the GM too) system with just a few main traits the players can create themselves and no...

What do you mean by "all descriptive solutions" or a "way to be not so linear"? I mean I can understand you mean you don't want it to be railroady, but teaching people a language through the medium of gaming has different rules (in my opinion) because like math is a universal language, so too is is...

I'd agree with the above posts. Not a fan of d20 myself anymore but my first purchase and game was '88 redbox, and having played AD&D2E, 3x and 4, I have to say I would prefer original '88 redbox with some better rules for separate races and classes and skills.

Hi there, very cool to see some game design around here. =) I like your start and overall the rules and definitely the feel, simplistic and reminiscent of, to me, 8 bit console RPGs like Final Fantasy and Zelda. One thing offhand is you could mock up a character sheet and maybe a list of your...

{Emiko hears the horn being sounded from the Vul above. She stares at the locusts in frustration, then looks down at Xiaolong. She sees him covered in sweat and stuck in a daze gripping the rope. An intense look of desperation comes over her face.} "The Vul have sounded their horn! The others...

{Emiko finishes her climb to the top grate and stops for a moment before reaching the surface to look up and take in the situation.} ~Locusts?! The Vul must use them to clear the remnants that fall and protect the lower sections of the chamber... It looks as though they are contained to a...

{Emiko continues climbing the rope at an even pace making sure to be careful. She stops a moment hearing something in the distance up above.} Emiko calls down to the others below in common, just loud enough for them to hear her. "I heard Cred cry out above us... There might be trouble! We must...

Our characters have taken on the cause of our fallen prince comrade to overthrow the vul. One of our friends was captured by the vul when the vul interrupted a skirmish between an evil were rat *****, her posse, and some of our lycanthrope party members. {Emiko moves forward and tugs at the secured rope just to make sure it's safe. She begins climbing the rope with ease, like a spider on it's web, staying at a safe pace to catch up with Cred.} (Using the warlock's spiderclimb ability, so no need for rolls on climbing ropes.)
