I'm mainly interested in finding a good D&D game, preferably Eberron or Iron Kingdoms, but I am always open to trying new systems (not a fan of World of Darkness though). I like a fair balance between plot and hack and slash. A good mystery is always welcome.
I would like to find a group around my age or slightly older. The group should play well together (no PvP) and not have any drama. The GM should be experienced in whatever system they are playing. I expect the GM not to "railroad" the players into the story, but adapt when things don't necessarily go as planned. Also, while I don't except elaborately planned maps for every room in the game, but I do expect GMs to use a basic battlemap and markers in order to make use of all appropriate movement and spacing rules during combat.
I am a 23 year old male living in the D.C. area. My gaming experience is as follows:
D&D: Eberron, Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Iron Kingdoms campaign settings.
Star Wars RPG
Hero System 5
I am a fairly amiable player. I normally roll up a character that will fit a needed niche in the party. I don't twink out my characters. I see playing RPGs as a cooperative effort and don't try to sabotage follow players or the GM's storyline. I'm not a fan of LARPing, but I will talk in character at the gaming table when it makes sense.
Outside of gaming, I'm interested in linguistics (I speak Mandarin Chinese and a little bit of Japanese) and martial arts.
