What are you looking for?:

I'm interested in something with a heavy role-playing element. with combat and other game mechanics in a supportive role. The only systems I know well and have the rule books (+ some accessories) for are AD&D 2nd ed, and DnD 3e. I also have the 4e core books but have never played.

I'm willing to learn new systems but not buy any more books. I would prefer to play a dark fantasy game, but am open to options. I'm also flexible in regard to character creation if a party has already been formed and needs to be rounded out.

About Me

Biography:

I'm about 30, and have been playing RPGs on and off since my mid-teens. Where I was growing up, I was the only person to have the rulebooks (AD&D 2nd ed.) so I DM-ed for about 4 years - almost exclusively the Birthright campaign setting. In college, I played DnD 3e, Star Wars d20, Mage, and Vampire (WW) - but didn't terribly enjoy the experience since the group took the games waaaaaaaay too seriously. The only exception was ironically enough a short lived Call of Cthulu campaign.

After a long hiatus, I've been DMing a few short campaigns via video conference (homebrew mix of AD&D 2nd + 3e in a Birthright/Ravenloft mashup world) the last couple years with my players from highschool.

I'm pretty busy with work/home duties and I travel a lot for work, but I could definitely meet 2-3 times a month. Also, I don't have a car, so game venues would have to be public transport accessible, unless someone was willing to car pool.
