I haven't had an opportunity to game in a couple years beyond playing NeverWinter Nights, so I'm looking to get my feet wet again. I haven't been able to play the 4th ed DnD or 4th ed ShadowRun, so would either prefer a game playing the previous editions (3/3.5 and 3rd respectively), or a game willing to put up with me learning the new systems. I prefer role playing to hack n slash, but don't mind combat. I'd prefer a group of people around my age - mid twenties to mid thirties, and I'd prefer not to be the only girl in the group. I'd like to find a game where the GM gives the opportunities to solve puzzles in addition to fighting through the latest dungeon. I am married and do have more commitments of my own now, so I'd prefer a game that meets only once or twice a month, though I am fine with very long sessions when the group does meet.
I used to play weekly in both a DnD group and a ShadowRun group. However, in both cases the groups fell apart due to interpersonal drama, though in neither case was I the source or participant of the drama. It's been a few years, and most of the people I played with have lost interest/moved away/grown up and gotten too busy, so I'm looking outside the people I know for a group. I have played ShadowRun 3rd Ed, DnD 3rd/3.5 Ed, BigEyes SmallMouth, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, The Dark Eye, and Exalted, and am open to new things. I also have a limited amount of DMing experience, having Dmed The Dark Eye at GenCon as part of the FanPro team in 2004. I also was in the team that won the ShadowRun Competition at Origins in 2003.
