Helgrond, head partly bowed, swings his gaze from the lady to the soldier to the militia, taking in the visuals and the corporal's words, as well as Leiptr's own bit of lore. Was it true? She seemed genuine, but they were already bluffing the guard in tandem. He could not be that careless to assume...

Helgrond slowed his pace, looking between the tall Man-she that appeared, and the approaching militia, and rolled his eyes wearily. Not wanting caught up in a mess with some stranger, but wanting less yet another encounter with fidgety, xenophobic guards, the ogre sighed as he steeled himself for...

The faux Norwegian looks up to see Robson lightly bouncing from the ropes as a prelude to his fairly solid legdrop followup move, but the warrior kips up to his feet and charges in, surprising the trucker by leaping into the air and encircling his head with an arm, adding a liberal handful of hair...

Gutbuster goes for a kick or knee, but Nemesis clenches his abdomen and pivots sideways, taking the brunt of the force across his whole side to negate it. He takes this moment to exert a vice-grip with both hands and rotate both of Robson's hands violently at an angle and pin his arms back behind...

The tall, chiseled combatant looked the two men over briefly and made a dismissive puffing noise, much to the resentment of the potential truckers, as his eyes wandered to the backroom interview stage - a cheap particle board partition in a corner of the room, additionally made presentable by small...

Very cool, thanks man. I really like random charts and tables and item lists and such, just as inspiration if nothing else, plus seeing some older stuff is an interesting look back and insight into ideas from the past.

About Me
Real Name:
Jason J. Patterson (JP)
Biography:
Early 40s male, 3/32 Cherokee, have run tabletop, forum and chat games; Warhammer FRP2E, CoC and Feng Shui, Savage Worlds, Chill. Enjoy reading RPG.NET etc. Prefer online. Not D&D/D20 fan.

General Overview:
I enjoy rules-lite to rules-medium games; not necessarily "hack and slash", but cinematic and active when possible, both as a player and as a GM, cool is the rule - the more awesome, the better - implausible but applause-worthy stunts are terrific!

While I like players to feel free to do stunts and come up with big ideas, they need to share the spotlight with each other, and ALSO to remember there IS a plot/story backdrop to play against and solve also, and obstacles to overcome. The GM puts the obstacles and plot there FOR the players and their characters, for those characters to demonstrate their best qualities, whatever the players feel those are, however the players play them. The adventures are ABOUT the characters, because they are the ones DOING them, but their goal, is about whatever the objective of the adventure is.

What percentage of my games are RP vs Combat? 50%/50%? What do the other GM's say? I really want to win that car. Seriously though, what do you consider RP? Climbing a mountain or sneaking into a castle past the guards? Besting a wizard in a battle of wits? Winning a debate with the mayor, charming the princess, convincing the townsfolk not to lynch the witch? Planning out your next route to the Forbidden Mines? The amount of combat and RP is really mostly up to the players, so I can only say 50/50 because I can't really predict what will happen.

I'm not fond of fiddly rules, lots of fluff, convoluted restrictions and monotonous tactical quibbling - I like cool narrative and clever ideas - those win out every time.

The Path of Solomon Kane, Season Six - Play by Post Savage Worlds Campaign

by jpatterson on 01-28-2014 at 11:03 AM
I've been forced to adapt my Savage Worlds Solomon Kane campaign to play-by-post for the immediate future, until some offline issues "settle down" a bit for me. I hope I'm able to conduct it entertainingly and consistently for my players.

My plan is to conclude "The Lion of Ninn" adventure/plot point/scenario/story arc, and then see if there is interest in continuing into the further "episodes" of Season Six via play by post, or if my players would rather

Hi everybody, just dropping by to offer this link to a site I have up that has some various random generators for everything from gems to useless items, technobabble and wrestling moves (and wrestler names and stats). (I know there are a ton of various kinds already on the net, but I feel like some of what I offer may be different than can be found easily and might be useful. A few friends and gamers have used some of them and find them useful on occasion, so I figured I'd share with others
