What are you looking for?:

I'd like a stable group that enjoys roleplaying, not just kill-monster-take-treasure-level-up, though I do still like *some* action. I'm more interested in how well done the world is than the ruleset. I'm a guy who will generally over-prepare in reading rules and background material. Just say no to 4e - I gave it a year in a sanctioned RPGA group, not going back. I particularly like modern fantasy/supernatural/horror, or anything gaslight/steampunk. I like the adventure and using my brain, not just the killing stuff and breaking things. Occasional hack-and-slash is OK, but I don't want it to be the main game element - if I wanted a miniatures based wargame, I'd play Battletech, not D&D.

About Me

Biography:

I'm a single guy in my late 30's who has been gaming since the old D&D Basic red box back in '81. I've played every edition of D&D since then, plus some d20 variants including Modern and Star Wars Saga. I *can* gm, but outside roleplay heavy systems like WoD/Storyteller I'm not that great at it - I lack an artist's touch for making good combat encounters. I've played several versions of Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, a tiny bit of GURPS, lots of old World of Darkness (every single game, including Wraith, which I quite liked), Mechwarrior and Battletech, Paranoia (old systems, not recent reboots), and lots of one shots of everything from Fading Suns to Toon. I just like to game. I have ridiculous amounts of free time for gaming, and a pretty open schedule.
