Anything is good except I don't care for mod in the box, but am willing to give it a shot if the DM is creative, or I can DM from my own world, just like to keep the story above the dice, I do not like roll-to-breath players/DMs

What are you looking for?
As a player- I really like old fashioned dungeon crawling without all the new rules to gum things up. I like 1ed because it really let the DM run the campaign and make creative, interesting calls on things that just were not in the books. After all it was supposed to be a guide, not a rule book. Creative campaigning with a good story, not out of a box, that is what I look for as a player.
As a DM- I am much the same way-I won't run a campaign with feats, special abilities, and all that stuff as the forefront of the play. The story will be good, and free-floating. I do not like stereo-type magic the gathering stuff. I much more into Tolkienisque or Amber or even Stoker for my inspiration. I am much more into the guide and less into the rules. I want to be creative and I want the player to be creative. The players in my campaigns will have to role play, not just list off their abilities or character skills. Some part of the player will BE their character, otherwise we might as well just roll dice and never look up from our sheets.
As a side note- My player must be an adult, not because I include obscene or inappropriate material in my campaigns, it is more because I expect the players to be mature.
About Me
Biography
I have been playing D and D off and on my whole life, since the game's inception in 1976. I have seen it change, some good some bad. I write, have two degrees, like to create all the time (I have a constant run of D and D ideas running in my head like your PC has programs you don't see) It is an obsession really. My current group disbanded about 5 years ago, when we all got married and had kids, new jobs, mortgages, etc. Now I am back at it.
