What are you looking for?

As a player:
If at all possible, I'd rather not play Dungeons & Dragons, any version. The system is just way too limiting, and making a specific type of character can be a very contrived process (X levels in class #1, Y levels in class #2, Z levels in class #3, etc.) First and foremost, I'm looking to have fun in my games as a player. I'm not as much of a thespian as I'd like to be, and unless the role demands otherwise, I'm more of a strategic player. And I don't really play mages (due to preference, but am open to play one).

As a game master:
I don't use the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset, for reasons stated above. The most versatile game that I'm verse in is Mutants & Masterminds, and I have my own house rules for it (such as using 2d10 and an elegant hit point system). I'll also run Savage Worlds, too, because it's a quick and simple game system (though not as versatile as Mutants & Masterminds) and I'd love to run at least one game with OVA (www.wiseturtle.com). I'm familiar with many other systems, such as Hero, GURPS, Storyteller, etc., but aren't comfortable running them yet because of unfamiliarity or lack of splatbooks (Storyteller) or the rules/character creation is harder to explain that M&M (Hero and GURPS). By default, I use systems that allow for ease of explanation and play and assist others in creating characters. I really haven't had a group of experienced gamers yet (or at least those familiar with the rulesets I'm familiar with).

Biography

Hello. My name is Ronald and I like roleplaying games. I've been involved in the hobby for about 14 years now and it's one of my favorite activities. Unfortunately, I've played a lot less than I'd like to due to lack of resources, such as lack of players or conflicting schedules. Hopefully, I can meet more people who share the same interests and have accommodating schedules.

I've played/GMed D&D (2nd, 3rd, and 4th Edition), True20, Mutants & Masterminds, Exalted, Savage Worlds, Spirit of the Century, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd Edition, Star Wars (d20), and a few more I don't recall at the moment. As for games that I'm familiar with, that list is a lot longer than what was mentioned above.

Right now, I'm running a one-on-one Jade Empire campaign with a friend of mines using Mutants & Masterminds, once a week on average. I don't mind playing more often, however. I don't have any other campaigns set up in mind at the moment, so it'll take some time to whip one up.
