What are you looking for?:
Absolutely no D&D 4e. Other editions/systems negotiable, 3.5 strongly prefered. I largely favor online games, and the wider the potential playerbase, the better (i.e. free crossplatform tools rather than proprietary ones.)
Ideal target game would be in one of the listed game worlds using the next stable branch of Maptool once that's done, or pure IRC. I have a Centaur Cleric (likely deity: Thoth) in planning, and a friend has a Selunite Werewolf Warblade; these characters would be members of the Fangshields and are designed to work together. Saturday evening and night is the ideal timeslot, but this is negotiable. I'm in an Anima-based game Sunday evenings, so any further game would either need to be very interesting or be compatible with the above Forgotten Realms character concepts. The AIM/ICQ network or IRC are prefered for out-of-game contact beyond the initial contact here.
Houserulings and GM Fiat are there to be used, heavily if needed, ideally to create a varied, versatile and sensible game-world.
PC Death should be kept to a reasonable minimum, and player character complexity/interest factor should be emphasized. Another generic human fighter who can be nigh-completely summarized as "likes to hit things with swords" is dull. A centaur cleric with wanderlust and an unusual thirst for knowledge is much more interesting.
About Me
My experience within the P&P genre consists mostly some D&D 2e and 3.5 over the years, plus a little pre-AD&D 1e so long ago I barely remember it. My main complaint so far is the difficulty of finding playgroups that actually consistantly play as a party rather than as each individual acting alone. My schedule is variable/negotiable/flexible. I can probably play just about any alignment and most races/classes/etc to a reasonably convincing degree, but I strongly favor 'unusual' characters. You won't be seeing an elven ranger from me unless he's got at least some quirks.

I have a lot of background in non-P&P gaming ranging from RPGs to RTS to FPS and plenty of other genres as well; Neverwinter Nights 1, the Ultima series, the Final Fantasy series (especially pre-PS), the Zelda series, Diablo 1/2, System Shock 1, Starcraft, the Metroid series, Doom 1/2, Hexen, the Descent series, the Jedi Knight series, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. I program (especially in C,) I make maps and other game content, I maintain game servers. The older and more classic something is the more likely I've played it. I don't do MMORPGs, and I don't like dumbed-down gameplay.
