Yrisz looks on perplexed, as Derim, Noxias, and Rogur begin to move towards entering the deadly room. "Um...," she intelligently says, then goes silent as she quickly starts checking her gear as if preparing for a serious altercation.

Umi, thanks for your clarification on intent and design. I'll do as much as I can to speed up the tempo, as I know I spend a bit of time slowing things. As for actions, it sounds like we are on like Donkey Kong. #AudentesFortunaIuvat Yrisz will move to near the entrance in case a quick...

Waves Foam watches approvingly until it appears to be too much, and she advises you to start with focusing on a few things at once, and just let the other things wash over and past you like background noises. She explains that you are now tapping into her senses to a certain degree, though she is...

Sorry, this was a game day for me so this is going to be a VERY short post as I'm super late on sleep, and work has been a trick affair of late, i.e. not favoring light sleep. That said, I'm leaning towards option 2, like I said earlier, if option 2 doesn't pan out, option 1 should be still...

I think that you all are totally daft. I think Umi has quite clearly illustrated this area as a "enter if you dare" zone. I'm not un-equivicly saying that there isn't profit in this room. But profit or not, it is going to hurt a lot, cleaver distraction or otherwise. My vote is bypass this room...

"Well, that's that," Yrisz whispers matter-of-factly after hearing of the conclusions of Derim's Bulbsnout experiments. "While we do seem to like our plans to have a somewhat suicidal element to them, going in that room for any reason seems a bit much for even us. Hopefully all those fowl carrion...

Or we can throw one of our expensive Sun Rods into the room, they don't burn hot and have the added bonus of being throwable, thus allowing greater distance in our vision. As for weaponizing the swarm, or even giving it great incentive to go out into the hall to eat us, I personally suggest we...

Enjoy your vacations everybody! As for Yrisz, she's a bit more cautious, though she'll try to keep up with any madness to keep the instigators hearty. I'm with Palp in missing our chance to explore a bit (the last episode felt totally unfinished when we botched our way out). Nice quite...

Hi Farcaster, just wanted to say this is a very well established site and I'm very impressed. I also thank you because this site will help me find players in my area!

Farcaster, please forgive me for posting this here, but I've tried PMing you several times recently and was never answered any of them, so maybe my account won't send PM's?

I'm sorry if I've annoyed you in any way, I know I've screwed up and such, but I hope you understand I've genuinely tried to be good, it was never my intention to cause any harm.

I've patiently waited out my infraction time, but when I tried to join the chat (for a game a friend of mine scheduled, Juno-Ome to be specific) it says I'm still banned.

I agree PM's would be a better place to discuss this, so please PM me a response. Again, I'm sorry, but I have no where else to turn.

The Gatekeeper Campaign Log

by Farcaster on 10-14-2011 at 07:14 PM
I kicked off a new campaign about a year and a half ago called "The Gatekeeper," and I have had the extremely good fortune of having a published WotC designer and author at the table with us, Mr. Erik Scott de Bie. Erik, I have come to find out, is a tenacious writer. In the first few weeks of our game, he actually sent me more post game followup than all my players combined have sent me in the following year.

So, I asked him if he'd focus that insatiable pen of his towards

The Year of Blue Fire: Gearing Up

by Farcaster on 12-13-2010 at 02:52 PM
So, our first game for the Year of Blue Fire campaign is coming up this Friday. Iíve got the basic concept together for the first adventure, but I still need to sit down and stat out potential encounters and spend some time jotting down key locations and information. I usually work well under pressure and it is a first level game, so Iím not too worried about it.

Iíve decided to try out logging the campaign on Obsidian Portal. I created a campaign there last night. So far, Iíve only

The Year of Blue Fire - Campaign Background

by Farcaster on 11-22-2010 at 04:14 PM
I am starting up another campaign soon. I may be a little crazy for trying to run two games simulateously and "assist-DM" in a third, but I just couldn't resist when my buddy asked me to run a game for a group he was putting together.

Unlike most games I have run in the past, I'm not coming to the table with a campaign idea already in hand. Instead, I am working with the players to create their backgrounds and then I am going to build the campaign organically from their

Have you checked out d20Pro?

by Farcaster on 04-22-2010 at 03:58 PM
d20pro pushed out an update today. Version 2.1 is out of beta and available for download.

You know, I recently ran a 4th edition demo game using d20pro. It's actually a pretty sweet little app for running remote games, and even for using as a digital replacement for your battlemat at your regular face-to-face games as well. It was designed specifically for the d20 OGL ruleset and has a set of plugins to integrate nicely with Pathfinder. There are also patches for 4th edition, and

Why I'm Starting to Consider the iPad...

by Farcaster on 03-01-2010 at 11:00 AM
A few short weeks ago when the iPad was first announced, I was not among the throng of excited Apple groupies who had already made up their minds before Steve Jobs took one step onto the podium that I would be buying this device no matter what it did. I've never quite understood the mentality of if it has XYZ sticker, I simply must have it, and that extends to the iWhatever-the-Hell-They-Come-Up-with-Next. I was a late adopter to the iPod, simply because I never wanted to spend
