Density control can make skin harder to use as a defence definitely. What other uses it has are up to the player/GM, like many of the powers. Dark Matter can be used for the same sort of things that some of the other energy powers can be used for - blasts, creating shields/walls, surrounding things...

D8 is the maximum skill specialization. So if you allocate D6, your general skill level is D6. Your specialization is bumped to D8. If you allocate D8, your general skill level is still D6. You then have two specializations - each at D8. If you allocate D10, your general skill is D6. You then have...

One that doesn't get us attacked on site, but also something that doesn't include to much lying for Yrisz sake. Obsidian Portal allows you to create a private wiki if you're a subscriber. Only 39.99 a year. And you can organize it so there is player information and private GM info. Very slick, easy to use, and you don't have to bother installing software, etc. Just focus on creating. :-)

You spotted the mistake! Haymaker was the original character in the example but he later became a villain so I changed him to Bayou Bob but missed this one!

Nicely done Palpatim, If a roll of a 13 doesn't manage what you had planned, then you are a far braver player then I, wait, you are, but anyway I hope your comedy routine doesn't hurt Rogur to much, and manages to win the boy over to boot.

Yup, we think she is. We always thought she was, and Pradize seems to think so too. The problems is where, we were originally thinking honored guest (as she was with E), now we are thinking perhaps honored 'guest' (the 'throw her in the dungeons please, my minions' sort of guest you see). It...

Hi Farcaster, just wanted to say this is a very well established site and I'm very impressed. I also thank you because this site will help me find players in my area!

Farcaster, please forgive me for posting this here, but I've tried PMing you several times recently and was never answered any of them, so maybe my account won't send PM's?

I'm sorry if I've annoyed you in any way, I know I've screwed up and such, but I hope you understand I've genuinely tried to be good, it was never my intention to cause any harm.

I've patiently waited out my infraction time, but when I tried to join the chat (for a game a friend of mine scheduled, Juno-Ome to be specific) it says I'm still banned.

I agree PM's would be a better place to discuss this, so please PM me a response. Again, I'm sorry, but I have no where else to turn.

The Gatekeeper Campaign Log

by Farcaster on 10-14-2011 at 07:14 PM
I kicked off a new campaign about a year and a half ago called "The Gatekeeper," and I have had the extremely good fortune of having a published WotC designer and author at the table with us, Mr. Erik Scott de Bie. Erik, I have come to find out, is a tenacious writer. In the first few weeks of our game, he actually sent me more post game followup than all my players combined have sent me in the following year.

So, I asked him if he'd focus that insatiable pen of his towards

The Year of Blue Fire: Gearing Up

by Farcaster on 12-13-2010 at 01:52 PM
So, our first game for the Year of Blue Fire campaign is coming up this Friday. I’ve got the basic concept together for the first adventure, but I still need to sit down and stat out potential encounters and spend some time jotting down key locations and information. I usually work well under pressure and it is a first level game, so I’m not too worried about it.

I’ve decided to try out logging the campaign on Obsidian Portal. I created a campaign there last night. So far, I’ve only

The Year of Blue Fire - Campaign Background

by Farcaster on 11-22-2010 at 03:14 PM
I am starting up another campaign soon. I may be a little crazy for trying to run two games simulateously and "assist-DM" in a third, but I just couldn't resist when my buddy asked me to run a game for a group he was putting together.

Unlike most games I have run in the past, I'm not coming to the table with a campaign idea already in hand. Instead, I am working with the players to create their backgrounds and then I am going to build the campaign organically from their

Have you checked out d20Pro?

by Farcaster on 04-22-2010 at 03:58 PM
d20pro pushed out an update today. Version 2.1 is out of beta and available for download.

You know, I recently ran a 4th edition demo game using d20pro. It's actually a pretty sweet little app for running remote games, and even for using as a digital replacement for your battlemat at your regular face-to-face games as well. It was designed specifically for the d20 OGL ruleset and has a set of plugins to integrate nicely with Pathfinder. There are also patches for 4th edition, and

Why I'm Starting to Consider the iPad...

by Farcaster on 03-01-2010 at 10:00 AM
A few short weeks ago when the iPad was first announced, I was not among the throng of excited Apple groupies who had already made up their minds before Steve Jobs took one step onto the podium that I would be buying this device no matter what it did. I've never quite understood the mentality of if it has XYZ sticker, I simply must have it, and that extends to the iWhatever-the-Hell-They-Come-Up-with-Next. I was a late adopter to the iPod, simply because I never wanted to spend
