Looking for a clean and easy way to access the Pen & Paper Games forums from your iPhone or Android cell phone? You can now visit the forums using an application called Tapatalk. I've been running this application on my Android phone for the last week, and it's pretty sweet. Once you have the application installed on your device, you can find our forums under the Games > Tabletop / Roleplaying Games category.

You can find out more about the application over at the Tapatalk website.

I've been eagerly looking forward to GenCon for months now and the day has finally arrived. Tomorrow I will be getting on a plane at some *God-Awful* early hour headed towards Indianapolis. Barring the interference of the gods or some pissed off storm elemental, I will be arriving at the convention center around 5 or 6 pm local time. While I'm there, I'll be keeping you guys up to date with my coolest finds and the latest happenings on our P&PG Facebook Fan Page, so be sure to add us to your Facebook news feed by becoming a fan. And if you're coming to the con, feel free to come and find me. I would enjoy meeting any of my fellow P&PGrs I'll periodically post on our facebook page if I'm going to be hanging out anywhere for a while.

I am pleased to announce that Pen & Paper Games has been nominated for ENNie's 2010 Best Website Award! As I look back, we've had an amazing year. Since GenCon last year in August, we've almost increased our membership by half, from about 9,000 to the over 13,000 that we have today. One of my biggest fears for P&PG is that as we have gotten bigger, we would lose some of that "small community" camaraderie, but (knock on wood) despite all that growth, we have been able to maintain an awesome community of gamers. And now, we've been nominated for Best Website! How great is that?

Thank you to all of you for making this such an incredible community!

Last night, Scott Kurtz over at PvP Online was kind enough to give us a shout out on his blog. Scott is a long time friend of mine, and I really appreciate him letting his huge following of faithful fans know about the fantastic community we have here at Pen & Paper Games. If you've never read Scott's online comic, by the way, you really should check it out. It's among the very best web comics out there. I can definitely tell you that Scott is by far the funniest guy I've ever had the pleasure of having at my gaming table ...

EL TARGETO CHAMPION OF SAVINGS! (ahem.. I guess you'd have to be there. *chuckle*)

Since our update to vBulletin 4, the Campaign Invitations section has lacked a number of the search options that it used to have. These are all now restored and there are a couple of new items you can search on as well. As of this evening's update, you can now search for online campaigns or campaigns in your area by:

    • Distance from your profile location.
    • Genre (Fantasy, Horror, Science Fiction, etc)
    • Style - Does the group favor heavy combat, heavy roleplay, or somewhere in between?
    • LFP status - Is the game still looking for players?
    • Frequency - How often does the group meet?
    • Days of Week - Include games that run on the days chosen.
