You may not know it, but Robert Schwalb is a quiet giant in the pen & paper gaming industry. He has designed content for more gaming companies than you may realize, and was one of the early architects of the D&D's latest edition. He is currently running a Kickstarter for a new game he designed called Shadow of the Demon Lord. I have personally played this game, read a decent amount of its content, and wholeheartedly believe it is a road-map for quick, efficient rules for rapid provisioning of tabletop gaming content.

Check it out, and please consider supporting it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. ...

Since taking over to help Farcaster with operating this site, I as hit with some projects that needed to be wrapped up. While those are still ongoing (Red Aegis RPG), I have some downtime where I'll need to focus on something else. One idea I came up with is a shared-experience where I take tiered responses from the community that will help inform the actual adventure.

Head over to the General RPG forum and look for the stickies as they relate to this adventure. These will come and go fairly quickly ...

Vorpal Games is proud to announce the official preorder for the Red Aegis RPG. If you missed the Kickstarter, this is an excellent opportunity to jump in while the water is hot (we won't be reprinting it). Secondary to this, we're tossing in some special incentives for those who support the project. I'll be raffling off a limited-edition signed hard-copy to one supporter that picks up the Digital Boxed Set (which already includes everything). ...

Here's a great article from the 2013 World Champ for X-Wing: Paul Heaver. There's some really good insight in this article about how the metagame works, and what you should look for before any dice are rolled. This has applicability to not only tactical miniatures war-gaming, but other games as well. We sometimes get caught up in the wrong aspects of the game, and forget to step back and look from a higher altitude. Over the coming months, we'll try to get some articles up that help you look at games from different perspectives. ...
