After years of decimation and destruction caused by a global war, a new age has risen from the ashes. With the advancements of magic and the wonders of its scientific application, The world of Noril has changed. All the gods whose followers choose sides during the war, have been forgotten. Arcane magic, its practice, teaching, and even the material components necessary for its use are now controlled by a powerful order known as The Fold. Now, with the major settlements in a state of rebuilding and expanding, The fold has established a tight hold on arcane magic. Outlawing its use in most cities and kingdoms. Mages and sorcerers alike are forced to join the Fold, or face persecution. In this new age of Noril, there is also a revolution regarding the different races that populate Noril. Where long ago racially fueled hatred was the cause of many battles, now the races share a set of "rights" that entitles them to fair treatment regardless of their heritage. But with the war over, and many of the powers at large hidden away, many new important figures have arisen. As well as new organizations. One of these organizations "The Luminaries" has hired a group of mercenaries to look into some stolen property that was hijacked. The mission was a compleat failure and most of the group died .They have sent a strange human sorcerer named Tevarus to look into what took place, along with the only surviver. A Investigator named Cioundais. Together with a dwarven Inquisitor who worships the dwarven god of creation "Omnus", Elf Ranger whos blood is half high elf, and half wild elf, and a series of other personalities they have met along the way. They have all been caught up in a sequence of events that has them traveling halfway across Noril to thwart the uprising evil that threatens to blanket the plane with utter darkness. And as the events unfold the group finds themselves undertaking tasks that could effect the whole world of Noril as they know it, or knew it. For once they discover the source of the great evil that looms over them all, they will learn that the future is not set in stone.
