    Hey guys!

    We'll use this space for character creation purposes. I'll post guidelines for the various campaigns here, and ask you to make rolls using the forum die roller.

    "Frak!" exclaimed Derek Wildstar, ducking out of sight a split-second before blaster fire charred the reinforced metal wall that stood between him and the Imperium's shocktroopers. "Guys!? This is just a big misunderstanding! I'm on your side, here! I've got important information pertaining to rebel troop movements. Check with your superiors - code word ... "Rock'em Sock'em."

    * Fast Talk *

    OCC: Derek doesn't really expect his ruse to work, but he's hoping to gain at least a few seconds as the shocktroopers check on his story.

    For ease of reading, I recommend that we bold quoted text, then we can italic inner monologue/thoughts. We can use the actual quote block, as Dragonfly did above, to quote another person's message, or part of it, if our character is replying to a direct thing. I haven't figured out how to do a different kind of box that we can use for OOC (Out of Character) notes, but I'll work on it.

    Well, no. It looks like the dice roller syntax is very different. I'll have to check this out.

    Okay, so the dice roller is somewhat primitive. You can't put a formula for multiple operations in one line. 6,4d6v1 should be roll 4d6, drop the lowest 1, 6 times. But putting in just 3d6 works (though it rolled poorly for me.)

    Looks cool, but some of us (i.e., me) may need a basic tutorial on how to use the dice roller, etc.!

    Hey folks!

    Good to see you noodling around with this!

    Jen and Danno - let's get you rolling some dice. It's pretty simple. Just hit "reply" to add a post. You'll notice an icon for a red d6 just above the text box, all the way to the right hand side. Simply click on the die and type in what you are rolling.

    Let's say you have a fighter with a +5 to hit with his sword. You would type 1d20+5 into the space provided, and then hit "okay". You won't know the result of your roll until you send the post, but the fact that you rolled will show up in your dialogue box looking something like this:

    open bracket=1d20+5 close braket open bracket /roll close bracket.

    [I spelled out the brackets here because typing them as actual brackets would generate a roll, which is not something that I'm trying to do right now.]

    Anyway, you can use the space between bracketed items to type in the type of action you are taking. That would generate the following:

    * Swinging long sword at orc chieftan *

    Give it a shot! It's easy!
