Hi there! :-)

Just wanted to write a quick hi and introduce myself. My name is Kate and I am a co-owner of NERO Nexus, a LARP here in the central Illinois area. I'm looking to meet gamers in the area who would be interested in trying the "darker" side of role-playing. We don't do rock, paper, scissors here... if you want to slash someone with your sword, you slash them (or try to) with your sword. Yes, we are a full-combat, fully immersed role-playing game where you ARE your character from Friday night through Sunday morning. Fighter, mage, rogue, human, elf, hobling, we have it all. If this sounds like your cup of tea or if you have any questions send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Thanks!
Kate

We are looking for 2-3 more players to round out a group that is starting a brand new Pathfinder campaign. We will be using the Pathfinder Kingmaker adventure path for starters and intend to continue with other pathfinder campaigns in the future. The games tend to be 50% RPG and 50% Hack and slash.

For people who are not familiar with the kingmaker adventure path here is a short description. You and your group have been chartered to explore and settle unincorporated territories to the south of the country you are in. the “stolen lands” are rife with bandits, monsters, and secrets waiting to be discovered.

We are a friendly group of players most of which are experienced with 3.5 D&D. This will be our first pathfinder campaign but the two systems are basically the same game. We do not mind inexperienced players and are willing to teach people who have never played before.

After years of swearing I'd never update, I discovered D&D 3.5 and fell in love. I truly had everything I wanted/needed in D&D without the heartache.

Now, unfortunately, I am having problems finding people to play 3.5, so I am looking into going to Pathfinder. Please keep in mind that I DM almost exclusively.

Since I have zero Pathfinder books, how much is going whole-hog into it going to cost?

And, since I have an entire campaign world already established, how much of a headache is it going to be as I upgrade everything from 3.5?

Thanks!!

Ancient runed coins, powerful artifact swords, sole survivors of fallen empires, all such, and more, in pursuit if a dead god, and the order of knights that served him.
Sound interesting to you? We recently lost a few players to work commitments, and would like to feel the empty chairs. We play at my home in Battleground, Wa. every other Saturday or so, from 4pm until 10pm. Pathfinder rules, set in the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting, with a few minor house rules.

So, here's my thing. At the end of this post will be a ;ist of three majical items. Your part will be to pick aon and describe one or all of its' abilities. AND then list one or two of your OWN majic items for the next imaginitive poster.

Word of warning, be sure to destiguish with the word "a" or"the", because this means there can be others like it but different, or it is unique and can not be repeted here.

here is my list for you guys (and gals).

a Sword of Slithering (as apposed to a slithering sword)
a Dragon Mace
the White Glove

Have fun.

Greetings true believers!

I wanted to run a super-heroic game with my group for a long time. And I almost bought every existing systems!
Supers! is one of the games on the top of my 'It's the one' list.
Simple and yet versatile!

I wanted to test systems as a player first and tried some play by post.
In the end it was so fun that now i'm addicted ;)

On some forums we did some 'Super Brawl'.
Some kind of play by post duels with only two players with rough goals and background .With only two players the rate of posting was quite high.

I'd really like to try 'Supers!' here .

English is not my first language but I'm quite a fluent speaker.
Anyway, Pbp are slow enough so I can cheat and check my dictionnary :p

I've been in Atlanta for a few months, but so far I'm a little discouraged. It seems like most of the gaming group are outside the metro area, and I'm limited to MARTA range myself. SO! I'm hoping to host a game at my apartment (well, my friend's apartment; I'm just a guest for now).

The Game:
Right now, I'm really excited about the Grimm RPG by Fantasy Flight Games. As I write this, I'm planning to GM, but if there's anyone in the area that would like to instead, well I won't stop you. :p
The theme is mainly about adventure: the players play children (usually 9 to 12 years of age) that are trapped in a twisted fairy tale world known as the Grimm Lands. Sub-themes include horror (most creatures in this world want to eat the children, and are unpleasant in general), action (swordplay, running for your life, puzzles and traps), and intrigue (the PCs tussling for leadership, figuring out who - if anyone - can be trusted, and what it will take to get back to the Real World).

The Location:
I've been in Atlanta since February, staying with my friend and his brother until we can upgrade to a bigger apartment. We're in our late twenties, so we're mature enough (usually). The apartment is in a gated building on the west side of Downtown, just up the street from the Georgia Dome. We have air conditioning and no pets. Any smoking will be outside on the balcony, and we generally discourage alcohol though a few beers would be okay (in fact, we have some left over, if anyone likes Bud Light).

The Time:
This is very much open to discussion. I'd like to run once a week, and I'm still looking for a job so my schedule is open for most any day (Wednesday evening belongs to another group). So if you're interested in this game even a little, let me know and I'll try to find a day that would work best for the whole group.

Run or fight, because the hiding is over.

It’s your choice. Your childhood protectors have been called away. You’re an adult now. The blood of gods and monsters runs through your veins, and your value has just increased astronomically, because your age increases your value over time. You are a pawn, a bargaining chip, and even a tasty meal for powers beyond. Will you find the courage to face your pursuers, the strength to fend them off, the knowledge to out wit them, and have the endurance to stave off the next wave of assaults as you and your friends become ever more valuable targets?

Using the new rules from Wild Talents 2 Essential Edition.

Inspired by the Lightning Thief movie, Clash of the Titians, Lovecraft, and the Scion setting... Because when the gods get to meddling in mortal affairs, anything can happen.

This will be a serial series of sessions connected to each other with varying degrees of continuity. Fair Warning: I'm new to the ORE system.

This campaign intends for us to have fun, roleplay, learn the ORE system, and explore character possibilities. We’ll start off at 200-point characters but might adjust it to fit our needs.

I'm not sure what days or how often, but I'm thinking every other week. Location: Xmax Games. I'm open to discussing other times and places.

Your master told you she'd just be away until the city's air filtration system was fixed. She bought enough new programs for you before she left that you'd have something productive to do for the next six months or so. They were good months. The programs let you see the whole city, meet other robots that you'd never have met otherwise. Your master was such a nice person.

She never came back. The programs terminated, leaving you to maintain the house and garden, and spend the rest of your days playing her sizable collection of dreamgames. It's not an unusual existence for a robot of your standing, and you're comfortable enough, but you can't help but feel that this isn't what she meant for you.

They never came back. The city is empty. Yet the air filtration system was fixed quite a while ago.

Where have they gone? Who will command you now?

---

GURPS Lonely Service Droids is a roleplaying campaign run using the rules from the GURPS Basic Set and GURPS Ultra-Tech, published by Steve Jackson Games. A simple interpretation of GURPS will be used. It is not necessary for you to own the books; the freely available, 32-page GURPS Lite provides enough information to get started, and the game master will supply any additional rules as they are needed. Previous roleplaying experience is not required. Combat will be rare, quick, and deadly, as befits a high-tech setting, so the real challenge comes from being prepared.

The character creation process is adapted from Engine Heart. All the character traits in that game are available in this one. In addition, a number of robot classes and shapes are provided.

---

You can apply for the game by emailing the GM. Though not required, it would be helpful if you were to attach a character sheet. To do this:

Download the player character template. Open it in GCS. Use it to build a droid worth 200 points or less. The disadvantage limit is -130, and the GM will be fairly liberal about it. The difficulties involved in being a robot are an important part of the theme of this campaign. A library of suggested traits is available in the form of this library of Engine Heart traits converted to GURPS.

In the notes, write a backstory for your character. Details to consider:

What use were you built for?

What were you actually used for?

What was your master like?

What was their house like?

What other robots did you work with?

What are your opinions of them?

What have you done with yourself since the humans left?

Email it to the GM.

If he thinks you're a good fit for this campaign, he'll help you optimize your character, and then invite you to the first game session.

You might have to change your droid's function if someone else has already taken a similar droid. The GM will help you with that, too. Feel free to send mail before you begin character creation if you want to find out what sorts of characters have already been made.

The first session is tentatively scheduled for August 19, 6:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time (New York).

---------- Post added at 09:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:23 AM ----------

A survival/ horror campaign where your crew awakens in a very bad situation that tends to get worse with each passing minute. You and your crew must survive through one night within a place filled with nightmares. As you watch the swollen sun fade on the horizon you know you are in for one hell of a night.

Beginners are welcome to this 1st level campaign that I will run on Screenmonkey. All you need is a character ready which can be made from scratch or downloaded from the Arcanum Syndicate website. http://chaos6010.com/ We will be playing Saturday, August 7th at about 9PM EST. I will run the crew through a quick 15 minute training segment if you are new to screenmonkey. Just have a character ready and take the MTU link in the Chaos 6010 A.D. forums to play. There are downloadable chapters from the rulebook for character creation here http://chaos6010.com/download.htm You may also register on the site to chat in the forums with other players and meet your crew.

The RPG competition will be held during the game sessions. You are awarded experience points for character background creativity, in-game roleplaying, and combat efficiency. At the end of the campaign the winner will gain a free Chaos 6010 A.D. rulebook, and the first module "Pray for Dawn" in pdf format so that you can run the game for your own crew. It's a 130 page module that can be played several times with many different outcomes depending on which house the crew runs to for shelter for the night. A different horror story awaits down each street and every house is detailed with maps and descriptions for new game masters to read to their players. This game is intended for mature players. It does tend to get a bit graffic and dirty at times. Fun for the whole family :) Hope to see you there.
