This time, you can get the Excessively Large Top Hat, Chibithulhu, Spyke's Hammer, tavern flagons and tankards, and Shakespeare's Pike, as well as an exclusive Munchkin card and a bookmark included with every pledge! July 12, 2019: Warehouse 23 Top Ten For June 2019

Did you know Warehouse 23 has been in operation for almost 20 years? That's a lot of cardboard, tape, and packing peanuts! In those two decades, we've made changes, had several revamps, and even had two different stores at one point (one for digital products and one for physical products), with the most recent version of the store being several years old. Of course, all those years provided lots of data, so we thought a monthly top-ten of both physical and digital items might be interesting information to pass along.

No surprise seeing The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition, Munchkin Warhammer 40,000, or Munchkin Harry Potter Deluxe in the top ten. These are relatively new releases, all within the last year, that will continue to be top sellers. Another non-surprise is seeing the fan-favorite Illuminati, 2nd Edition continue to have steady sales –*and with Illuminati Coins just missing top five, now is the best time to take over the world!

Some surprises, of course, are both Munchkin Quest and Nanuk cracking the top ten. Both these titles have been out-of-print for quite some time, so if you haven't picked them up, now is the time.

On the digital side, it's exciting to see folks taking advantage of the recent sale to pick up digital copies of the two volumes of the GURPS Basic Set and the GURPS Character Assistant software. June also saw the release of two items perfect for GURPS Dungeon Fantasy or Dungeon Fantasy RPG fans, which helped ensure that half of the Top 10 was taken by crypt-crawling excitement. And it's interesting how two popular titles – Totems and Nature Spirits and Steampunk 3: Soldiers and Scientists – added new character-creation options.

June 27, 2019: Kickstarter Reports, June Update

It's been a slow month for crowdfunding here at Steve Jackson Games, relative to earlier months this year. We've spent a lot of June handling existing projects and making sure that everything is moving forward. The team also applied energy to wrapping up international shipping on a couple of projects; international fulfillment continues to be a challenge that slows down our ability to quickly complete open Kickstarter campaigns. We continue to look at the situation and won't stop seeking a workable solution to international shipments that accelerates project delivery to those supporters outside of the United States.

To keep close track of our Kickstarter efforts, we recommend following both the Steve Jackson Games and Warehouse 23 accounts, as well as liking and following our Facebook page.

The Fantasy Trip: Decks of Destiny
 • April 29 to June 3
 • 1,172 backers and on schedule
 • The campaign unlocked over 30 stretch goals and led to a big, hefty box of accessories that any TFT game master will find valuable when planning and running adventures. We managed to send the project PDFs to backers ahead of schedule, and we're set to open the BackerKit survey very, very soon. Going well!*

Three Mini-Expansions for Munchkin!
 • March 25 to April 12
 • 1,331 backers and on schedule
 • Now in the final stages of manufacturing at the factory, this project*is set to ship to our fulfillment warehouse next month. If all goes according to plan, the finished expansions will reach the Michigan warehouse in August and start mailing to backers ahead of the original delivery estimate.

Bag of Bags
 • March 31 to April 1
 • 287 backers and on schedule
 • Another project set to ship from the factory next month. Going great!!!

Powered by GURPS: Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2 & Game Reprint
 • March 4 to March 22
 • 1,019 backers and on schedule
 • In July, the factory will wrap the manufacturing and package the expansion and the game. This is expected to ship in early August, reach the fulfillment warehouse in early September, and start shipping to project backers just as fast as the team can manage.

Pocket Box Games of the Eighties
 • January 30 to March 1
 • 1,974 backers and on schedule
 • As we reported last month, scanning continues. So much scanning. So very, very much scanning. We are going to start seeing the physical tooling samples soon; as those come in, we'll snap pics and post them to the campaign page on Kickstarter.

Hexagram #1, an Old-School RPG Zine for The Fantasy Trip
 • February 1 to February 13
 • 961 backers and on schedule
 • The project has shipped out and, except for any stragglers, is officially completed. It will not appear in next month's report.

The Fantasy Trip Adventures
 • January 2 to January 14
 • 1,375 backers and on schedule
 • As with some of the titles discussed above, this hardcover book is scheduled to leave the factory next month and start shipping to project supporters in August.

Ogre Battlefields
 • December 5 to December 28
 • 1,401 backers and on schedule
 • The completed expansion is either at the fulfillment warehouse right now or arriving in a day or so. The shipment is arriving a week earlier than we expected –*good news we will happily take!

Munchkin Steampunk: Girl Genius
 • November 1 to November 21
 • 2,195 backers and on schedule
 • U.S. rewards are delivered. International rewards are in transit and expected to reach backers over the next month.

That's a total of 9 active projects:
 • 2 now mailing out to (international) backers.
 • 1 either at the warehouse or arriving in a day or so.
 • 5 at the factory.
 • 1 in final checks and heading to print next month.

One of the things we're learning as we expand our crowdfunding efforts is that our ability to create and track projects exceeds the limitations and restrictions of the tools we've been using. For that reason, we're exploring other crowdfunding and direct-to-you options for funding some of the projects that we have in the works. We've made no decision on what tool best complements our Kickstarter presence; we continue to look at our options and we'll very likely experiment with a few different ideas before finding a Kickstarter companion that works best for us.

Check out this new article from the Daily Illuminator that Steve Jackson Games posted:

June 21, 2019: Munchkin Musings: June 2019 - Special Post-Origins Edition!

I just got back from this show last night and I'm really pleased with how it went. I've only been to Origins once before, in 2014, and this show feels so much bigger than I remember that one being.

We had both Munchkin Warhammer 40,000: Faith and Firepower and Munchkin Warhammer 40,000: Savagery and Sorcery for sale, and while I don't have final numbers, I can say that they both sold quite briskly (along with the Munchkin Warhammer 40,000 base game, of course). Faith and Firepower is shipping to distributors now and should be on store shelves by the end of June. Savagery and Sorcery will come a couple of months later. We're also releasing a Kill-O-Meter and pack of Chaos Dice for Munchkin Warhammer 40,000, each of which comes with four cards*– that's eight cards you can't get anywhere else!

I was also lucky enough to demo a prototype of Munchkin Warhammer Age of Sigmar for a couple of lucky "Mystery Munchkin" tables .*.*. and we maaaaay have playtested a couple of expansions for that game in those sessions. Everyone seemed to have fun and the backstabbing was legendary, so it looks like we have another success on our hands! Munchkin Warhammer Age of Sigmar is scheduled for release late this year.

It's weird, after over a year spent working on Munchkin Warhammer projects, to be done with the design and well into development on the last couple of pieces. I have really enjoyed this project*– series of projects, really*– and I am forever grateful to Games Workshop for being such wonderful partners in the process. And, of course, the games wouldn't be as awesome as they've turned out without the work of John Kovalic. When all is said and done, I will have written and John will have illustrated over 800 cards for these games and expansions. Not bad for a year's work!

Back to Origins: I also ran "Learn to Play" events for Munchkin Shakespeare Deluxe, Munchkin Steampunk: Girl Genius, and Munchkin Warhammer 40,000. A whole lot of fun was had, and I know some people went across the hall to buy the games, so they did their job!

Oh, and there was one other thing that I showed off at Origins. Phil says I'm not allowed to talk about it yet, but I think I can safely throw out the hint that it's a new Dungeon expansion for one of our most popular Munchkin sets, with a slightly different approach to the Dungeons that fits that game perfectly. I'll tell you more about it when I'm free to reveal the title.

I didn't spend all my time at Origins playing Munchkin, however; we also showed off the upcoming "draw and draw" dungeon-delving game, Deadly Doodles. (Phil talked more about that right here,*a few days ago.) Randy ran some Car Wars Sixth Edition previews, and several people were running demo games of The Fantasy Trip, too. And I got to roam the hall and see friends and their new games. I'll only mention one here: Are You A Robot?, from Looney Labs, which is billed as a social-deduction game that requires "2 players, 2 minutes, 2 dollars." It lives up to the promise. Even if you're not a fan of these games, this one is worth the money.

Now that I'm back home, I have to start working on the games we're hoping to have for Origins next year. We're working almost a full year ahead on our Munchkin schedule at this point – we have to, if we want to stay ahead of ever-busier factories, worsening international trade situations, and the usual array of unforeseeable delays that make this business challenging and fun. It'd be boring if everything were easy, right?

See y'all next month for more news from the world of Munchkin!
