Hey. I'm a new DM, for about 3 months now, and I've actually done a pretty good job at it. I have about 5 or 6 people usually there each week.

The main party is a Druid Elf (Beto Blackberry, and yes he looked a his phone for the last name), an Elf Ranger (Fiaro), a Human Swashbuckler (William Lockhart, total Pirates of the Caribbean steal), a Rouge (Necomalum), Half-Giant Fighter/Barbarian ( Gram or Grag or something like that), then some usual NPC's like a Werewolf Paladin of Freedom ( I'm DM i do what i want ), a wizard (Agustine), and a couple others who come on and off.Fiaro and William are played both by the same one person at the same time, which is amazing because they have two different personaltys and my friend dose it so well and its hilarious to watch. Its made some Fun times.

Anyway my story so far is that (and I'm really really paraphrasing) Two kingdoms end up at war with each other, and the PCs and a hand in that (accidentally killing a royal). So now they are in the Army of the Kingdom of Kissahn. There have been a few big battles that they've been in which were a little rough at first. Anyway i didn't wanna have them as average Joe foot soldiers so they are all in a special ops group and go do the fun work. This makes it so i can send them away from the big battles an such. Well assassins kept coming to kill Fiaro and eventually they found his home Kingdoms seal on documents ordering his death.

So they journey to his homeland and (he thought his father was hunting him down for some reason) he found out his sister who hates him hired the assassins. Well there was this whole ordeal and it all got settled by their father( for now at least ;D ). Aiona ( his sister) and Beto ended up liking each other at a party and she gave him a pendent of hers. So where we left off they were on their way reporting back to Kissahn and Aiona stayed home(for now ;P ;P ).

Right now everyone is about a level 7 or 8.
But now I'm kinda stuck on where to go. I don't wanna throw in the Beto and Aiona or her and Fiaro things too fast, like maybe after 3 or 4 more adventures.

But I need ideas for adventures, plot twist or just comments on how you think this campaign idea is going.

    Here are my 2 ideas.

    1. Have the royal rise from the dead as a vengeful ghost. Maybe he has possessed the sister.
    2. Have the sister kidnapped by the assassins. (Moral Dilemma, with a hint of irony, anyone?)

I like number 2, but I think you will have to have some sort of contact with the sister to find out what the final motivation was for her to hire assassins to kill her own brother. Can they reconcile? This would give the brother some motivation to rescue her. Maybe the sister has a change of heart about killing her brother (reconciliation maybe?) and her choice to not use the assassins (and maybe not pay them) puts her in a bad situation that brother has to help fix...

    My two cents,

Have the country they are in start to win. In every D&D book or some such the PC/heros always seem to be on the losing side and are the underdogs. Instead let them be on the winning side.
    Why you ask?
Ah, now you can tell some stories:
    1. How will the PC's ease the suffering of the common people forced to endure the loss of thier sons and daughters?
    = the reality of war
    2. How will the PCs seek to end the war by encouraging peace and a resolution to the conflict?
    = all wars end
    3. How will the PCs deal with the labour shortage and plagues that follow the war's end?
= imagine the new costs of magic, masterworked, and regular items

Or, you could ignore my advice and pick up any fantasy novel and go with a varation of it.
