FF HERO: Thief

This one was tricky. Wanted the realism of theft (not the cartoony version of Final Fantasy) but wanted a final fantasy feel to the class. This is what I came up with.

Category: expert

Ability maxes: 8 8 15 12 5 12

Allowed Weapons: boomerangs, light swords, knives, ninja blades, swallows

Allowed Armor: Armwear, Hats, Suits

Starting Ability:
Backstab: +2d6 HKA (30 active points) OAF (-1) only vs. surprised targets (or when behind) (-1) x4 END (-3/4) Real cost: 8 pts.

If you hit a surprised target (or target from behind) you are able to hit a vulnerable area. Costs x4 END as normal.

Other abilities:
Deflect: as the power 20 pts.

Sand in the eyes: 3d6 flash sight (15 active points) OIF (-1/2) No range (-1/2) doesn’t work against desolidified creatures (-1/4) Real cost 7 pts.

You take a handful of dirt or sand and throw it in the target’s eyes.

Steal mind: Severe Mental Transform 8d6 targets EGO not Body (+0) (120 active points); only works in combat (-1/2) Sentient beings only (-1/4) All or nothing (-1/2) fast healing (REC/turn) (-2) Extra turn (-1.25) no range (-1/2) Real cost: 20 pts.

You wipe the target’s mind clear, making him your virtual slave. You target the power as normal. If hit, roll 8d6. If this is greater than twice the target’s EGO score, you cause them to be charmed. The target “heals” this transform dam at a rate of REC/turn. It activates on the end of your next phase.

Distract: +8d6 minor transformation (add limitation extra segment to one of the target’s atk) (40 active points) no range (-1/2) only works in combat (-1/2) All or nothing (-1/2) fast healing (REC/segment) (-2.5) Real cost: 8 pts.

You distract the target in a way to make him have to concentrate more on using an attack. You target the power as normal. If hit, roll 8d6. If this is greater than twice the target’s body score, you put the limitation (extra segment) on one of a power that doesn’t have extra time. The target “heals” this transform dam at a rate of REC/segment.

Blindproof: sight flash defense 10 Real cost: 10 pts.

Steal focus: +20 STR +2 OCV (30 active points) Only to disarm (-1) OAF (-1) full phase action (-1/2) Real cost 9 pts.

You are so skilled at thievery, you can steal a focus like a weapon right out of someone’s hand. When use a disarm or martial disarm, you have 20 extra STR for the STR vs. STR contest, and a +2 OCV on the attack roll.

Money sense: detect precious metals at range as a sense Real cost 10 pts.

You can detect all sources of precious metals in a 120 degree arc (in front of you) within your sight range.

Detect magic: detect magic items Real cost 5 pts.

By spending a half phase action, you can touch an item to determine if it is magical or not.

Detect danger: detect enemies, range, as a sense Real cost: 17 pts.

You can detect all sources of enemies in a 120 degree arc (in front of you) within your sight range.
