  1. English for RPGs Part 02

Well, it didnt take very long to fill up another page, so, here we go:

affect (n) a mood or feeling
effect (n) the result of an action

The stirring music had a profound affect/effect on me. (Because we are talking about an emotional response, affect is acceptable, and because the mood followed the music, effect would work also.)
This medication has serious side effects. "cause and effect"
    An "area of effect ...

  2. Lesson's Learned

First off let me say we are having a great showing of our regular players.
Everyone is more or less on time and showing up, awesome.

This week the players discovered some new dangers of dungeon delving. After

Mrs. Timmons had also invited other acquiantences of Brian and the Timmons family, Mr. Goodness, Dr. Sneed and ...
  5. English for RPGs The Preamble

OK. So Ill be reading away and then boom, all of a sudden my eyes are moving along the page, but no longer processing anything. Im very visually oriented, so typos, comma misuse, apostrophe abuse and subject-verb non-compliance stand out from the page and wave a flag at me, saying, Here I am! Here I am! But the ones that tend to really get under my skin and completely derail me when I hit them are the homophones.

My mind starts turning. Im thinking about all the eyes that were ...
