  1. Bringing final fantasy to the tabletop (using HERO system 6th ed.)

    by on Monday 08-16-2010 at 10:38 AM (The horror of Yukon)
    So was in a gaming store on my vacation, and came across HERO. I have heard of it from people on this site, but didn't know much about it.

    Scanning it, it seemed pretty neat, very flexible, complex, but not overtly.

    What really rang with me was its compatibility possibilities with a Final Fantasy tabletop game.

    I LOVE final fantasy, and think the world's/stories are just so well done. But translating it to the table is difficult.

    by on Friday 08-13-2010 at 08:37 AM (The horror of Yukon)
    I am not sure how I feel about flexible attribute bonuses for the new PH3 races. However, I am of the mentality, WOTC knows what they are doing a bulk of the time, so I was thinking of retrofitting some of the older races to fit this mentality.

    I know the essentials line is doing this for some of the PH races, but I wanted to hear what you guys thought in terms of what I have come up with.

    In terms of MM/MM2/MM3/Dragon Magazine races, I am leaving them be. As exotic ...

  3. TOEE: game on hiatus, but what of the blog?

    by on Wednesday 05-05-2010 at 12:35 PM (The horror of Yukon)
    So my game is on hiatus (probably permanently). Question is, do people actually read my TOEE conversion notes?

    If I get comments from 3 separate readers, then I'll continue. Otherwise, no reason for me to continue if no one reads.

    Ok, our heroes clear out the moathouse and head back home.

    They meet up with Elmo and Spugnoir and intercept the cult spy (his name eludes me at the moment).

    I used Spugnoir as the official authority (assuming the PC's helped him in the moathouse) on all things elemental evil. I give enough away to help them along, but not too much.

    Elmo has the PC's (if they haven't already) gather the spy and interrogate him themselves. I had this as a skill ...

  5. TOEE: deadly obelisk

    by on Monday 03-08-2010 at 10:56 AM (The horror of Yukon)
    last but not least, room 32, the location of the obelisk.

    This can be handled a bunch of ways, but I decided to put all of the creatures in room 32, and descending towards the bottom of the obelisk has no encounters.

    creatures:
    altered (see below) fell taint warp wender (lvl 4 controller) {MM2}
    human noble (lvl 5 controller leader) {MM2}
    duergar theurge (lvl 5 controller) {MM2}
    barghest savager x2 (lvl 4 brute) {MM2}
