I'm having a son, he's doomed to have a geek for a father! Anyways this is going to change my gaming quite a bit so hopefully I can put a group together for Sunday afternoons who can handle a newborn. We'll see how that goes.
So after running some Shadowrun 3e (which was awesome) I handed my GM hat over to my friend Kai. He wanted to run a D&D style game and was going to use Storyteller. I thought someone on RPG.net might have a better idea so I asked and Desolation begain. I don't know how Kai feels about it but man this is everything I've wanted in a game. After 2 weeks of a hodge podge Shadowrun game based on 3e and 4e I have begun to remember what I love and dislike about Shadowrun. I love cyberpunk, dicepools and deadly combat. Shadwrun was always the game that could offer me these things. However I find myself missing the eligence of Storyteller. nWOD/oWOD while each having their own set of flaws really offer a style of game play I enjoy, yet there is no cyberpunk.
