A series of essays examining different RPGs as candidates for my next campaign.
Just to finish off the series, I've completed the last Comparative Character Generation essay. It covers more than a dozen other systems in a paragraph each, then comes to some unsurprising final conclusions.

I had planned to do two more "Comparative Character Generation" articles/reports/rants/things, but I'm not so sure. I've lost interest in doing the games I mentioned last time. My infatuation with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3rd edition is over, Mongoose RuneQuest II is mostly the same as Basic Roleplaying, and Unisystem as a whole doesn't do anything new.My original reason for these things, figuring out a system for my next game, proved faulty. I've written another in the Comparative Character Generation series. I'm only going to do two more, since a) I've examined most of the systems I'm likely to find players for, as far as I know, and b) my real problem isn't the system I run. So if anyone wants to see something besides PDQ, PDQ Sharp, FATE, Fudge, GURPS, BRP, MRQ, MRQ2, WFRP2, WFRP3, Unisystem, Barbarians of Lemuria, NWoD, Savage Worlds, Risus, or several variations on d20 ... speak now.
