Can't even shout, can't even cry
The gentlemen are coming by
Looking in windows, knocking on doors
They need to take seven and they might take yours
Can't call to mom, Can't say a word
You're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard.

Arch Lich Thoth-Amon
04-24-2009, 04:46 PM
Yep, that was back during the time of the dnd witch hunts, a sad time in our history. And that movie didnt do anything to resolve the misunderstandings of the game. I like Tom Hanks, but i am glad that movie was as bad as it was. I like to think that now, folks have gone beyond ignorance, and see dnd, and all rpgs, for that matter, as a positive influence on previous, current and future generations. That's my hope, anyway. My two duckets.

Now to threadjack this thread: I, for one, am looking forward to seeing yukonhorrors vacation pictures and stories posted on P&PG, and wish him the best vacation imaginable.

Had a poster on my wall when i was a kid of a mantis type of insectoid creature coming out of a lake at night. In his second pair of, what only can be referred to as, arms, he held a laser rifle. In the background, middle of the lake, there lay his half-sunken craft, behind and on the far side of the lake between the trees, there was a small house. Above the forest trees, amongst that stars in the night sky, were hundreds more craft invading earth. Quite a cool poster, to tell the truth. Wish i still had it, or knew where to obtain another.

Arch Lich Thoth-Amon

I couldn't agree more. I also hate folks that let their entire ringtone play out as if the rest of us want to hear it.

Best ringtone i've heard: I think it's called either the mosquito or the flea. Its buzzing is at such a high frequency that most folks cant hear it. I, on the other hand, could easily hear it from another room. Dunno why. But what i do know is that i was able to keep my phone on while everyone else had to turn theirs off. This was at work. he he

You thought it was funny last night feeding your dogs beans. I guess this is karma come full circle.

Actually, this reminds me of a great story that happened 15 years ago. i had this room mate that liked to eat others' cereal and put back the empty boxes. It really pissed us off. This room mate also allowed his dog to sleep in his room at night, mostly because it was a barker. Well, to teach this guy a lesson, we fed his dog great quantities of beans and the dog loved it. So that night, about 2am, i heard him cussing and removing the dog from his room. We laughed so hard it's doubtful we slept the rest of the night. He never did know his room mates pulled a fast one.

In the end, we kicked him out. We had to, one of the room mates had had enough and threatened to hospitalize him next time he ate some elses food and not replace it. We were cool, you can eat whatever you found in the frig. The only rule was to replace it if you finished it.

Now, where's that practical joke thread. I should put this thread there.

Was in a movie going mood after seeing Star Trek. Went to see Wolverine later that same day, the day being yesterday. Wolverine was about what one would expect: it explained some history, memory loss, blood ties, and so on and so forth. I would recommend it for anyone interested in this franchise, for not at any point did i feel like i wasted my money or did i ever look at my watch the entire time of the viewing.

Is it an IMAX show? No. Was Star Trek an IMAX show? Yes.

Go see it, and Enjoy!

Btw, District 9 looks to have potential. It's being released in August. Here's a video teaser of said movie: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809961221/video/13353011/20090507/105/13353011-700-wmv-s.85092738-,13353011-300-wmv-s.85092722-,13353011-100-wmv-s.85092715-,13353011-1000-flash-s.85092771-,13353011-1000-wmv-s.85092740-,13353011-700-flash-s.85092764-,13353011-100-flash-s.85092741-,13353011-300-flash-s.85092744-,13353018-10300-qtv-s.85092794-,13353018-2700-qtv-s.85092788-,13353018-6800-qtv-s.85092792-

I remember when i was young, probably around 7th grade, when i was eating waffles with hot maple syrup(i drowned my waffles in maple syrup, btw). I was sitting on a bar stool watching tv. I don't know what happened next, except i was flying backwards hitting the floor, syrups spattering all over me fractions of a second later. Yeah, i can laugh now, but i was pretty upset about it at the time. If i caught that on video, i cant help but think that i would have won the $100,000 prize for that funniest videos tv show.

Lesson learned? Dont lean back on bar stools while eating waffles soaked in syrup.
