My grandparents had a cat/bobcat 1/2 breed. He was huge, had the bobcat tail and made no nosie when moving, but IF he let you pet him he had a purr that would send shivers down your spine.

Scotish Ninja Doctor Dragons?

A newly qualified doctor arrives for his first day at a hospital, deep in the Welsh valleys. He is met by one of the sisters, who has been given the task of showing him around the hospital and introducing him to the staff and patients.
It is a large hospital and it takes the whole day to get round. By late afternoon they are working their way through the psychiatric block and as the time approaches for the evening meal they arrive at the last ward. They follow the dinner trolley into the ward and wait while one of the nurses lifts the lid on the food tray. To the doctor's surprise there is but a single haggis on the tray to feed a whole ward.
One of the patients moves towards the trolley in a purposeful manner addressing the haggis,

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang's my arm.
Before he can reach the haggis another patient sprints forward, grabs the simple repast and dashes up the ward. He proudly holds the haggis aloft and cries out in a commanding voice,

Some hae meat and cannae eat.
Some cannae eat that want it:
But we hae meat and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be thankit.
At this, a kilted dervish leaps from his bed, whips a skien dubh out of his sock and lunges at the haggis carrier. With a deft movement the haggis bearer fend off the flashing blade with the haggis. Although this prevents any injury it does result in the top of the haggis being hacked off. A small mouse obviously waiting upon this event dashes out from under a bed, grabs the loose piece of haggis and scampers up the ward, running the gauntlet of slashing claymores and hurled dirks from various patients. At the end of the ward stands a bent and wizened old man with a wild fire in his eyes. He screams at the mouse,

Wee sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi bickering brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an chase thee,
Wi murdering pattle!
And then dives upon the poor little mouse. With a left dummy and a right feint, the mouse dodges between the old man's legs, through a hole in the skirting board and to safety with his prize. The doctor turns to the sister and asks, "Why is this psychiatric ward so full of Scotsmen?"
"Oh no, doctor, these are not Scotsmen, they are genuine valley dwellers born and bred", she replies, "and, anywa, this is not a psychiatric ward, it is the serious Burns unit"

I think I'll leave that one for you. Make shure to include a poll.

Now, Imported from the word association thread:

(If you are reffering to Arnold, I beleave it was more pride and eggo. He didn't feal his fellow Americans gave him enough aclaimfor his actions. Getting caught with the money just gave him an excuse, and his Torry wife provided the means, and probably an encuraging wisper)

Temptations

I'll have to take your word on it, for i don't have any recollections on the details. Just took a guess at the top two reasons man faulters: women and money, usually women. Actualy, you weren't far off. Benidict Arnold was a merchant before he was a general. There is evidence that while he was posted in Philadelphia he used the influence of his possition to secure buisness deals. He also maired a woman from a Torry family, who's sympathies lied with the crown. Benidict offten sought glory in battle, often defying orders to get it. He was not satisfide with the rewards and recognition he receaved, beleaving he deserved more. On top of this, his underhanded buisness deals were exposed. While he was cleared of most of the charges, it was enough to put a dent in his heroic reputation. Wheather or not it was his wife wispering in his ear, or from his own initiative, he began plotting with the Brittish to sell out Wespoint (for a considerable sum of money), by having his wife pass secret notes through her lady friends for him. So, women and money were definantly envolved, I just don't think they were the prime motivator. (That is an opinion by the way, based off of historical analysis, but still an opinion.)

My cat has decided to forgo the mice and birds, and for the past to days has been brining in small lizards. In bits. I know it is lizards and nit lizard because while there are never enough bits to form a whole, there are more than enough of them to account for several. Two torsoes, one head (with part of the torso attached, so it doesn't belong to one of the torsoes), etc... :puke:

Maybe they had some kind of party for paraplegics. The smileys are well aware that the horse is the only one who can drive them home (or get them more drinks) and are trying to wake him even though he passed out and died from alcohol poisoning HOURS ago.

I can';t say I'm deeply affected, I'm not. I didn't know any of these people, and list Ed McMannon among the week's reapings. I feel for their families in an abstract way, I know what it is like to loose someone close to you. But my life will not be less rich or wonderful for any of these lives.

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. -- Ecclesiastes 3:1-20

This is also what makes the Stephen Spielberg-produced cartoons rock on toast. The Muppet Show, too, though that was never supposed to be a kid program. Animaniacs - "Hooked on a Ceiling" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZxNeY0oJPY)
Muppets - "Was Shakespeare Bacon?" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_Y9CJDbLxQ), "The Interrogation" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E3x5ri_uOM)
Pinky and the Brain - "Battle for the Planet" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kPENXOZ2hw)

I can claim innocence for liking ALF. I was born the year ALF went onto tv and when I first saw him, having never had a teddy bear or anything else cuddly like that, I was drawn to the character. It didn't hurt that he was an alien...

I was born the year the Penguins won the Stanley Cup twice in a row. (1991 + 1992. I was born 91')

So it's only natural I should be drawn to hockey.

Plus this year they won the Stanley Cup and the Steelers won the Superbowl and I'm very curious why there isn't an Ultrafork or a Master Dish in any of these sports since we're so drawn to kitchen-ware but I digress...

Go Pittsburgh. :D

Man, I feel old. Yes, I know there are older people on these forums, but still.

But wasn't it awesome the Penguins beat those Commies this year? Normally I cheer for the AVs, but Penguins are my favorite Eastern team.

That's how I do it. Applies the link to the selected text, rather than using the address (since there's nothing to markup otherwise).

Yes, and in their own house too.

Went all the way to their city, said " You know what? We want this back." and then they got what they wanted.

I loved when Sykora lifted that cup, showed it to everyone in the stadium, and said "F**KING RIGHT!" nice and clear into the camera.

SOFT YOU'RE A YOUNGIN'!!!! I didn't realize that people were born in 91!!!

I'm pretty sure Switzer had nothing to do with the cowboys for a long time after those superbowls, and I'm nearly positive it was 3 in a row. Jimmy Johnson was the coach. Troy Aikman was quarterback, Michael Irving was wideout and Emmitt Smith was the star back in the league at the time. I remember this because I hate the Cowboys passionately. I am a die hard Giants fan :)

Wrong again Panthro. Jimmy Johnson won two in a row for the Cowboys. Then Switzer took over and they didn't win the Superbowl that year. The following year they did win it however. I live in the Dallas area and I recall quite clearly how they hounded Switzer when he failed to win the Superbowl with Jimmy's team. Look it up.

Technically football is soccer. Considering the rest of the world calls soccer football. It's funny how the entire world calls a sport one name and America is like, "NUH-UH!!!" I thought it was 3 in a row. Doesn't matter though. All is right in the world. The Giants routinely beat them now lol! :)

Yea I remember that well. I used to really like Nirvana a lot, and I remember being completely shocked and in disbelief when I found out. In school people were crying and depressed. Cobain really was the voice of a generation musically. I still to this day believe Courtney Love was involved in his death and it was anything but a suicide.

Was kinda disappointed when they gave H. floresiensis its nickname, though; dinosaurs get Mark Knopfler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masiakasaurus_knopfleri), fruit flies have the Buffy gene (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q8T8Y5), and we get ... hobbits. (To be fair, we also got the Beatles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_%28Australopithecus%29). Still, before my time, dangit!) But hey, new potential recent family member, yay~! Yeah, I can remember a time when you could count all the known hominids on one hand. Now every Tom, Dick and Harry they dig up gets its own species name. I'm not so convinced they're not more closely related than that. Look at the diversity of modern humans. If every human on earth suddenly died today, you could bet that any extra-terrestrial race who later dug us up would be giving all sorts of different names and thinking we were of different species.

Then, of course, there's the brontosaurus, which not only became extinct but suddenly never existed at all because it was later discovered that the brontosaurus was the same thing as an apatosaurus.

Maybe they won't find human bones. Only the preserved dinosaur bones in museums.

Then they'll think that we were all a race of giant lizards who honored our dead by putting their bones on display.

At most the human race will be remembered as stupid monkeys who served their lizard overlords.

I would try to be a T-Rex's best friend.
