I just almost passed up posting here cause I had nothing to say but then I remembered what thread it was.

Ayup.

The internet should have an NC-17 rating. I hate it when parents use the internet as a babysitting tool then demand that the govt protect their children's innocence.

Said kids likely know a lot more than the parent's would willingly admit.

Especially when they can just move to china...

That works too.

...or, put a code in the computer to lock it down from a minors eyes.

Or learn to parent by Ghodd. See the Smothering Instinct (http://phoenixinn.iwarp.com/Politicks/smother.html),

I remember when I was a kid. We didn't have the internet back then (yea, I'm old, deal with it), but we had plenty of interesting TV programs and vido games. As it happens, my parrents monitorred what shows I was watching, what vido games I was playing, and even what movies I went to. Amazingly enough, this actualy worked at controlling what material I had access to. It amazws me that parrents today can't figure this out. All they do is scream about how violent TV, video games, and the internet are screwing up their kids.

Here's a tip: Don't give them money to buy those vidiogames unless you aprove of it, and make shure they get the one they tell you there buying (maybe by going with them to buy it hmmm?). Make shure the only TV's and computers they have access to are in public areas of the house so you can walk by and see what shows they're watching and what websites they're viewing.

Seriously, are we the only people who think of these things?

Many are just lazy parents that deal with the potential of confrontation by looking the other way, and or course, blame someone else when the kids go wrong.

I had a neat and very malicious idea. I think the instigator of a thread can delete it and experience is back calculated. I bet if morton killed the level up thread, half of the higher level posters would drop half of their levels. Same with the word association thread.

It would be a bit of a social experiment, and I am always up for mischief. It is not like we are losing quality conversations here.

ummm....did I miss something.....
I agree parents are lazy. When I sold video games all the time, I don't know how many times a parent would want to buy a game for thier kid and I would point out the "m" rating on the game and they would go "oh I didn't know that". But hey it's not "their" fault right?

So its really the simpler shapes that are more powerful? I never knew that. Guess all these silly geometry books talking about hexagons and dodecahedrons are a waste of time. All we need are 3 sided polygons. I guess shape made of only two straight lines would beat out Thoth's triangles.

All depends on how they are used. If one works on one's merkaba, then sure, the advanced shapes have their benefit. Pentagrams for summoning goodly creatures and such is fine, whereas triangles are great for the evil ones, but dont forget folks, there really isnt good and evil. That makes no sense, you say. Well, once your wisdom gets beyond a point, it will, promise. Also, for the beginner, it is always advisable to protect oneself from the outer forces by being within a circle, but when you get to Thoth's level, no pentagrams, triangles, nor circles are needed for success.

Much like my favorite god theory. He created the universe and it was such a harsh job that he's busy napping it off, has been for thousands of years, and will be for thousands of years.

KING. What's he that wishes so?
My cousin Westmoreland? No, my fair cousin;
If we are mark'd to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call'd the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

So, our kat went to the vet yesterday, for a checkup and a diagnosis on some scabbing on her leg. Diagnosis: Nasty bacterial infection (ears and leg). And they found her kidneys weren't working properly. Being two decades of crotchety already, the vet was concerned that the infection was the least of her problems. They took some blood for tests. Gotta say, I was quite scared, hearing that. This cat's practicaly been with me the whole twenty years, apart from the short time I spent with my father after high school.

Results came back today... Other than the infection, she's rather healthy. Antibiotics, ear drops, and a new food to help with the kidney function. The vet said she'll be around into her twenties, at least. >^.^<

Thought so. No more than I would.

Even undead mumified cats? I know the Egyptians made a few. Do they get hairballs?

The Egyptians being the through types they were would always mummify a cat with at least one hairball so they could have them in the afterlife.

Mine doesn't.

Yea, not too many hairballs around here since we lost Tiger. the other two don't do it often.

They're trying to keep you honest and keep virus's down. I've been at a few companies that monitor you and have turned off their monitoring software up the first day I get the computer. Though they are getting better. I used to use Proxy servers for internet, but the software is 'smart' and blocks them as well, so you're constantly having to find new ones.

she works at a place involved with the DOD I think, so they monitor it for security purposes mainly. However, they also monitor it for goofing off, but under the premise of security.
