Episode 1-"Flytrap Circus Follies"
At the group's headquaters there is a persistant and loud knock at the door.
01-29-2009, 12:05 AM
Perturbed by the distraction from his rather delightful cup of 3 o'clock Earl Grey, Reginald slowly and delicately dabs the corners of his mouth with a silk napkin and rises to attend to the incessant pounding at the front door.
"Dear me! I certainly wasn't expecting company! *Ahem*" Stopping for a moment in front of the door to straighten his bow-tie and remove his top hat, Reginald stoops over in a half-bow and opens the door.
"May I help you?"...
01-29-2009, 02:47 AM
Thuper Thnake is stretched out in a nearby corner, soundly asleep.
Wearing a sleeping blinder, atop a 2 feet long, yet 2 inch wide bed, complete with headboard that has a Giant "S" upon it. His whole body is cozied up in a long, polka-dotted ACME stocking cap, specially made for lengthy snakes.
He's SNORING so loud that the windows above him rattle, and shake, and a glass of water on a nearby miniature nightstand ripples and shoots little drops of water to the sides. A miniature windup alarm clock nearby shows the time, 3 o'clock. Nearby, a buzzing fly zooms around, and a cracked spot in the wall, near the floor, could that be a mouse hole?
01-29-2009, 11:09 AM
Reginald make a see/hear/smell roll.
Thuper, the alarm clock starts ringing loudly, eventually jumping off the night stand to your bed.
01-29-2009, 12:51 PM
Reginald attempts to See/Hear/Smell for his unexpected visitor...
01-29-2009, 02:24 PM
Reginald, you see a rather short human (so short, you almost didn't see him) with a large top hat and a large whip staring up at you. "You, are you interested in fame, forturne?"
01-29-2009, 05:29 PM
With an ear-to-ear grin slapped across his face, Reginald shakes the little man's hand vigorously, lifting him off the ground as he does.
"Ha HA! You must be with the review board for the Institute for the Performing Arts! If you're here for my audition, please allow me to begin!" With that, Reginald zips away in a puff of smoke and just as quickly returns with a phonograph. He sets the needle and the sounds of an orchestra exercising its notes fill the air. Reginald grabs the end of the man's whip and straightens it out into an oversized conductor's baton and clears his throat. He then, in step with the music, begins belting out in his most steady and robust opera voice that rumbles through house, rattling dishes in the cabinets and provoking the howls from several stray dogs in the street outside.
"Ah, bravo Figaro!
Fortunatissimo per veritą!
Pronto a far tutto,
la notte e il giorno
sempre d'intorno in giro sta.
Miglior cuccagna per un barbiere,
vita pił nobile, no, non si da..."
01-29-2009, 05:56 PM
As you swing the whip as an impromtu baton, you don't realize until you set the whip down that the man was still attached to it. He straightens himself out, and looks at the snake behind you. "What about him?"
01-29-2009, 09:45 PM
A stupefied, Thuper opens a bleary, red-rimmed single eye, and closes it, and resumes snoring.
In a moment, his tail comes around, and from the sleeping sock, Thuper whips out a sign:
"Let Sleeping snakes Lie"
And a second later, new sign:
01-29-2009, 10:34 PM
"Forgive him," Reginald says softly to the little man with the big whip, "...late riser". Tip-toeing over to Thuper's bedside, Reginald draws an impossibly large brass bell and mallet out of his back pocket. He shushes the little fellow with one finger to his lips and slowly envelopes the lazy snake's head inside of it. Then, with a one...a two...and a three...GOONNNNNGGGG!!! Reginald strikes the bell!
01-29-2009, 10:57 PM
Thuper is lifted off the bed, and does a wavy, echoing shimmery move around the room, carried by the reverberating sound waves from the bell.
Eventually the noises fade. With a slow, undulating motion, Thuper crosses the room, stopping at a large RED BUTTON, with a large placard:
"Press In Case of Noisy Walrus"
01-30-2009, 01:49 PM
The little man speaks, "If both of just sign this paper here, I can escort you to, um, the show."
He whips out a large paper, with the heading in large type saying "Contract," and the rest is in written in increasingly smaller type as it goes down the page. At the bottom, the man points to 2 X's for both of you to sign and holds a large purple quill in his other hand. (Both of you may roll for Read)
01-30-2009, 03:27 PM
Monocle in place, Reginald combs over the contract's fine print before signing it...
01-30-2009, 08:46 PM
Thuper looks at the button, and slithers over. With a flourish he dips his tail in the ink and signs "S. S."
01-31-2009, 10:23 AM
Reginald, you realise the contract says that you will be performing, indefinately, FOREVER, for the Flytrap Circus. The little man before you points outside and says, "I have my circus train, um, vehicle ready to go to the show."
01-31-2009, 06:00 PM
Thuper seems excited.
"The Thircus! I alwayth thought that thircuth wath fun!
Maybe I can tame lionth, or be a thnake charmer! Lady thnakes, that ith!"
02-01-2009, 12:23 PM
Once on the train, it takes mere seconds for it to travel just Outside of Town. You see a large circus tent. Inside of it are three rings and a large cheering crowd.
02-02-2009, 10:01 AM
Thuper Sings a little made up song, slithering up to the place:
'Going to the Thircuth! Oh, we're goin' to the Thircuth!
Come on, Walruth! Popcorn!'
02-02-2009, 10:38 AM
Still half-pondering the significance of the word "indefinately" in the contract, Reginald decidely accompanies Thuper to the dazzling sounds and strange attractions beckoning from within the Big Top. Reginald grabs two mountainous bags of popcorn from a snack cart and begins to hand one to Thuper before realizing he has no hands to hold it with. Reginald lugs the bags precariously into the circus tent, wisps of wind blowing streams kernels from the top like dry autumn leaves.
"*Ahem* I certainly hope they have a theater act...perferably of the Shakespearean variety!" he says.
02-02-2009, 03:03 PM
With a deft flickering tongue, and a whip-cracking noise, Thuper snatches popcorn off the ground, munching away, crunchcrunchcrunch, in reptilian jaws.
His mouth full, he says something that sounds like: "Maw, CRUNCH Dith iff gweay CRUNCH thircuff pawpcawn!"
Thuper follows, snagging more stray popcorn, as he goes.
02-02-2009, 05:04 PM
The man (who now wears a hat saying "Ringmaster") points at Thuper and says, "Go up there and jump into this pitcher." 'Up there' is a diving board, attached to a rope 25' high. The ringmaster places the pitcher under the diving board.
02-03-2009, 05:40 AM
"NO! I'm afraid of Heitth!" Thuper leaps onto the ringmaster, wrapping himself around the guys face, and head totally, shiverring in fear, looking up to the heights, shaking.
02-03-2009, 01:44 PM
The Ringmaster tugs and tugs at Thuper. He finally gives up and climbs the rope, with Thuper still attached to him.
02-03-2009, 03:14 PM
As a big, devious-looking grin crawls across Reginald's face, he suddenly tip-toes away returns carrying a circus lion in his arms. Reginald quickly removes the pitcher at the base of the rope and replaces it with the lion. He tilts the lion's head upward and opens its mouth wide.
"Heh heh. Now this..*Ahem*..is what I call a circus!" Reginald turns to sneak away to cover.
02-04-2009, 06:04 PM
The Ringmaster (still fully attached to Thuper) starts slowly walking to end of the plank. Being that the Ringmaster's eyes are mostly covered by Thuper, he doesn't realize what Reginald has done. He starts counting slowly "1...2..."
02-06-2009, 12:36 PM
OOC:was hoping to see more posts...
The ringmaster continues his count until he comes to the number "3" and finally jumps, still with Thuper attached to him. They both end up inside the Lion (you can see each other's eyes), to the delight of the crowd, who cheer and applaud. The lion licks his lips and goes back into his cage.
02-06-2009, 02:14 PM
Reginald leaps out before the cheering crowd and begins bowing and tipping his hand to them as a sprinkling of roses begins to collect on the ground at his feet. Then, holding out an open palm to silence the spectators, Reginald takes a large, raw hunk of steak from the loin tamer's station and a single stick of dynamite from his coat. He rolls the dynamite up inside the steak and strikes a match against one of his tusks. He lights the fuse and dangles the steak just outside the bars of the lion's cage...
02-07-2009, 03:13 AM
Thuper and the Ringmaster confront each other inside a stylized lion's stomach, with pink walls, pink flesh colored Ribs, and many, many small bones lying around in there.
Thuper glares at the Ringmaster!
"Now you've done it, Ringmather! We're Thtuck in here! What to do, what to do?!"
Thuper slithers idly around in circles, oblivious to the goings on outside. He starts rummaging with his tail in his Pocket.
02-08-2009, 11:49 AM
The lion comes over to Reginald with a big toothy smile, and opens wide. Regniald, you can hear Thuper talking to the Ringmaster.
The steak-and-dynamite combo meal suddenly drops onto the Ringmaster's lap. He pushes it onto Thuper, trying to tie the snake to the dynamite.
02-08-2009, 12:11 PM
After releasing the meaty explosive into the lion's mouth, Reginald takes severals steps back, turns away, closes his eyes and put his fingers in his ears.
02-08-2009, 08:08 PM
A bedraggled Thuper slithers into the scene, then flops to the ground, collapsing, exhausted with abrasions and little band aids all over his body.
02-09-2009, 12:09 PM
The Ringmaster appears outside of the lion. Both the ringmaster and the Lion are both smoking and covered with soot. Thuper, you receive 4 Damage from Exploding Steak. The crowd roars in laughter. Above Thuper and Reginald some brightly colored acrobats appear. They do somersaults and other amazing things. They reach towards the ground and pick up both Thuper and Reginald. The acrobats start throwing you around, leaving the ground below you spinning. Soon, chirping birds start appearing around both of your heads.
02-13-2009, 06:17 PM
The acrobats contiune to swing Thuper and Reginald around, until the circus tent collapses.
That's all folks?? Or to be continued?
