Amusing Penny Arcade today for PnPers. (As is usual with PA, reading the posted news augments the comic.)

Looks like running a few game session with the designers got the Penny Arcade guys hooked. Good for them. RPG's are a great hobbie and promote so many useful life skills that a person would never get from a video game.

Being down here in the Capital of the Bible Belt, that's the way I've been forced to look for gamers. I feel like a phreaking spy looking for his counterpart...

"Psssst... The yellow canary is nesting in the east tower..."

"HUH?!?! Whadchu towkin' 'bout, boa?"

"..."

Tycho has always been a PnP gamer. Gabe, on the other hand... not so much. Until now, apparently. :)

Years ago I used to think they were complete asswipes for dissing other comics for no seeming reason (UserFriendly specifically), but that was before I realised that Illiad A) had no intention of advancing his artistic talent, and B) due to reason A I quit reading UF just before he started doing those freaking annoying GIF ad-nag strips and only found out about them this year.

Now I fully agree with PA, and I've been following them for years.

Then I suggest you never read XKCD. You will not like it.

User Friendly is funny because it's true. If you can't see the pain, you don't get the humor.

Frankly some of the best writers out there are not some of the best artists. I can forgive them that for the great writing.

Where did I say UF wasn't funny or talk about his writing at all? Please point that post out to me, I'd appreciate it.

It's not as good as XKCD, but he has his moments.

And XKCD is differently awesome. He can draw well when he chooses not to abstract things, and his sketches have gotten better with time. And he's much funnier than Illiad and just about everyone else for that matter.

I'm sorry that my not liking UF for some reasons but not others apparently annoys you, but that's life, innit.

I could be wrong but I don't think tesral's comments were intended to offend. They seemed as more of a speculation. Apparently a misplaced speculation, but I read his intentions as innocent. :noidea:
