Hello, all.

Social Groups have gotten a little bit of a face lift. Read on...

Social Group Categories
First of all, we now have categories for the groups which will make navigating them a little bit easier. Currently, you can create two different types of groups:

Local Meet Up Groups (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/group.php?do=grouplist&cat=1) are regional/city based groups. Typically, these would be groups that meet on a regular basis for open gaming, discussion, or simply to help players meet and find groups.
You can also create a spot for your private Gaming Group (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/group.php?do=grouplist&cat=2). This would be a great place for you to coordinate gaming schedules, discuss your games during off time, etc.

If you already had an existing group, I have categorized your group into one of the new categories. If your group has been incorrectly categorized, you can change your category by going into the "Edit Group" options.

Threaded Social Group Discussions
The messaging system for social groups now works a little bit more like the forums, allowing for threaded discussions topics. If you had existing messages, you'll find them grouped under a single topic by the group's name.

Social Group Icons & Listing
You will also find that the social groups main page has been reorganized to allow you to quickly see groups you have created and are a member of, and to see the most recent groups that have been added. You'll also now be able to create a personal icon for your group that shows up in the group listings.

Social Group Emails
Don't forget that as an organizer, you can also email members of your group by using the integrated email feature at the bottom of your group page.

Sounds good. This maybe just the thing we need for over here in the Pittsburgh, PA area. A newer member has mentioned starting a regional group up and I like the ability to show specific gaming groups that already exist in that area. This may also help new members to more easily find groups in their area too.

Agreed, I've been trying to do recon / pull a bunch of people together on a limited basis, to assess and see just how many / what kind of groups are in the Pittsburgh area, seems like there are a lot of individuals, and small isolated groups, so maybe we can direct at least a few of them here, get something going.

Thanks for working on this, Farcaster.
