We're looking for interested parties who want to come join a roughly monthly 1E/OSRIC- based campaign in the near northwest Chicagoland area.

Here's the long and short of it:
Mix between Role and Roll playing
Mid-typical Fantasy setting, not based on any existing setting
Probably Mid powered characters with Mid powered magic

I've suggested that to avoid DM burnout and to make this an interesting unique event, we try to run this aka West Marches - for more info on a "West March" campaign, read this blog and linked followup articles (http://arsludi.lamemage.com/index.php/78/grand-experiments-west-marches/).

Update:

It looks like the first game will be the fourth weekend of January (1/24 or 1/25) and tentatively, we'll be playing at Games Plus.

System will be 1e/OSRIC - I'll be DM'ing and it'll probably be a "rules light" 1E (it's been a looooong time since I've DM'd 1E)

First game will take place on Jan 24th from 1pm to 5pm. Table is confirmed at Games Plus. We have at least 3 to 4 confirmed attendees and about 3 to 4 "interested" - please feel free to drop me a line and join the fun!

Just a bump to remind those in the chicagoland area about the upcoming OSRIC/1E game at Games Plus in Mt Prospect this Saturday from 1 to 5pm. Come see old school rules light D&D and have fun in a "fantasy post-apocalypse" game.

We had our first game Saturday and it went great! 4 adventurers bravely (foolishly?) went into the Darkwoods and managed to survive! They did stop a band of goblins to inquire about directions on the map, but that didn't go so well...

The next Dark Ages game will be this Sunday, 2/15, from noon till we decide to quit or the store closes (7pm) - game will be at Games Plus in Mt. Prospect, IL. I'll be there around 11.15, 11.30am to help with chargen or answer any questions.

- Bump - Just a reminder that our next game is this Sunday (Mar 15) from noon to 6ish at Games Plus in Mt. Prospect.

Also, a note - there is an FLGS called 'Unique Gifts and Games' in Grayslake. I'm more than willing to run another Dark Ages group/game there as well. So if you live far north or SE Wisconsin, let me know - I'll run for as few as 1 to 2 people!
