Q: I remember in the 1st and 2nd editions that drow items were destroyed when exposed to sunlight. I have checked the Player’s Handbook, DMG and the Monster Manual, and haven't found anything specifying this. Is this still one of rules?

I gotta say that I disagree with the Sage in this case. Regardless of the game mechanics reasons, I thought the Drow darksteel added a bit of story flavor. I still rule that drow made items that use the drow darksteel are damaged by daylight. So, if the character's want to use these items they captured in the Underdark, they simply need to be careful and use them only at night when on the surface.
