Does anyone know of a good random town map generator - preferably a offline downloadable program, but it can be online too. I've searched Google and this site, but the only things I came up with are dead links... :ranger:

:help: Please, any suggestions would be great!

Wow - thanks! I especially like the last one - but it doesn't seem to label any of the results. Since I was mainly looking for a map generator for towns, though, it's great! I might include it in our RPG Suite collection, if I can get a hold of the author... :bounce:

Thanks again!

These map generators tend to be fast but I don't really like them if I want to use the make more than just in an emergency. Best to spend the time and build the map yourself so you can use it for years in my opinion. Bad part of that is it takes more time. :(

I like using the generators for a base, then edit form there with a graphics program.

Designing it by hand, .. I prefer the randomness of "Discovering" what it looks like.. my plans tend to look / feel the same, so i like the random method.

I tried to D/L this file as it looked interesting, but it had no link. so I registered but still, no link. What is the trick? Are we only allowed to Upload files?

first it may take ya to an AD page. scroll to bottom and click skip or whatever.. then on the page with the file, scroll down a bit and choose option 2 , download with filefactory basic... may take a try or 2, but i made sure the link is there, 'cause I uploaded it.
try try again.. lol

I think only the owner of the file can D/L it. Too bad. I had my hopes up and everything. lol Hey, you never know. It could be the program I've been looking for.

also city designer pro for Campaign cartographer by profantasy.

I have the entire suite of profantasy software and its top notch, but has a steep learning curve to get really good. AutoRealm is easy and fast, and the RPG City Map Generator is also handy for homlets, villages, steads and peripheral places that you do not want to put much time into.

The dreaded learning curve.
