Xtreme Canadian Wrestling Entertainment: The safe alternative to backyard wrestling

I have been developing a Pro Wrestling RPG and I feel it's ready for a test run. It's still in its fairly early stages, but it needs a test run to work the bugs out of the system (hell, that's what test games are for). My working title is XCWE: Xtreme Canadian Wrestling Entertainment, "The safe alternative to backyard wrestling". I'll be needing anywhere from 4 to 8 test players to work the bugs out. I've written up 56 wrestling stars which (should I ever get this published) would be included with the rulesbook as the leagues established stars. There are 16 singles wrestlers, 8 tag teams, and 24 lady wrestlers, as well as an assortment of referees, managers, interviewers, ring anouncers, valets, and so forth. We will begin with the leagues very first event, with tournaments to determine the very first XCWE Heavyweight Champion and XCWE Tag Team Champions. I would highly recommend that anyone agreeing to take part in this test game choose one wrestler from the first half of a tournament, and then another from the second half of the tournament. For example, when choosing wrestlers for the 4 round single elimination tournament for the XCWE Heavyweight Title, choose one from matches 1 through 4 and another from matches 5 through 8. This lessens the odds of both your wrestlers facing each other before the Final Round.

For those of you who are interested, here are the tournaments and a sign up sheet. The moral alignments in this game, for those of you who base your character choices on whether you're the goodguy or the badguy, are Babyface (Good), Tweener (Neutral/Selfish), and Heel (Bad). Any similarities between these wrestlers and any existing pro wrestlers in the WWE or elsewhere is purely coincidental.

XTLC MATCH

Unlike the typical TLC match used in the WWE, the XTLC match has three stages to winning.
Stage 1: You must aggressively put your opponent through a table. He cannot have accidentally put himself through a table, if he does it doesn't count. Only by succeeding in Stage 1 can you go on to Stage 2.
Stage 2: You must pin your opponent or make him submit in the middle of the ring. In the case of triple threat or fatal fourway XTLC matches, you can only be pinned or made to submit by the wrestler who put you through a table. Only by succeeding in Stages 1 & 2 can you advance to Stage 3.
Stage 3: After achieving Stages 1 & 2, you must climb the ladder to retrieve your prize (championship belt, briefcase full of money, contract to a XCWE Title match, etc). Only the wrestler who has successfully put his apponent through a table and either pinned him or made him submit can officially climb the ladder and retrieve the prize. Otherwize the match will have to resume.

STRIPPER ROYAL

A Stripper Royal is essentially a cross between a Battle Royal and a Bra & Panties Match, with a couple of differences. Like a Battle Royal, a Stripper Royal is a bunch of lady wrestlers in the ring at once in an everyone for themselves free for all. But rather than being eliminated by being thrown over the top rope to the arena floor, they're eliminated by being stripped of their clothes. And unlike with a Bra & Panties Match, they don't stop at the bras & panties. In order to be eliminated, they have to be stripped naked.

I'd never played the WWE RPG. I ordered a copy but it never arrived at the gaming store. As for the system, it's a mix of d20, Warhammer, and Paladium.

Fighting: Fighting in XCWE is very much like combat in D&D3.X and Paladium. Wrestlers have a defense score called a Defence Rating, or DR, which is very much like D&D3.X's Armor Class system and Paladium's Armor Rating system. You have to roll that number or higher on a D20 in order to hit, throw, or grab your opponent. He can either take it and hit back, or he can elect to use some of his attacks that round to dodge or parry. A successful dodge or parry requires a roll on a D20 which is equal to or greater than your opponent's attack roll.

Damage: Damage done in XCWE is regulated by Injury Points, or IP, which work very much like Hit Points in the Warhammer RPG. They are a buffer zone between your character taking regular damage and critical damage. Once he is down to 0 IP, any damage he takes requires a roll on the Critical Effects Chart. Critical effects could range from severe head lacerations which bleed profucely, to severe spinal injuries which leave him a cripple, to severe brain damage which leaves him a vegetable.

Fatigue: Every character also has Fatigue Points, or FP. Some wrestling moves cause more damage (IP) than fatigue (FP). Others do more fatigue (FP) than damage (IP). Still others do equal amounts of both. A character who loses all of their FP but not all of their IP can be beaten just as easily as one who has lost all their IP but not their FP. Also, certain moves cost FP while others don't, thus it's possible to "punch yourself out".

Weapons: Hitting an opponent with weapons causes automatic Critical Effects. Thus hitting someone with full IP with a steel chair is like hitting someone with 0 IP with your fist.

Even if it never gets published, I will give each and every test player a copy of my final draft. Also, if any test players are also skilled artists, I'd apreciate it if you'd draw character portraits for each of the XCWE characters.
