Here's a very nice episode of the theory from the closet (http://theoryfromthecloset.com/2008/08/19/show044-interview-with-mike-mearls/) about D&D 4th Edition. Don't be intimidated by the name of the podcast, the focus is on game design, sure, but it's still grounded in real game situations. The guy is really interesting, even to someone who doesn't give a rat's heiny about D&D in general.
