i need a little help on the ultimate magus presige class. it states that you gain a level of previous arcane casting class and a level of spontanious casting class. so do you gain a strait up level of wizard and sorcerer??
if not please explain as im not sure if i want to mess with it or not(thats alot of spells to be slinging around )

You gain a level of Ultimate Magus, but your SPELLCASTING in each of your other classes goes up. So basically, you don't move up the other class's tables except for the spellcasting ones.

Yup, it's a lot of spells. Hence the PrC name.

most spellcasting boosts from a prestige will stipulate that they only increase the number of spells know and/or the number of spells per day. no other benefit of the base class being affected is gained. so you do not gain any hd, bab, frw, or class features of the sorcerer or the wizard; you simply add your ultimate magus level to your sorcerer level to determine spells known and slots per day, and to your wizard level to determine the number of spells known and spells per day.

and just to clarify, you do, of course, get the hd, bab, frw and class features of the ultimate magus. ^^
