Just wanted to say "hello" to the Pen&Paper Games community.

Ao you deduced from my moniker, I am a GURPS player. Like many N TX GURPS players, I played in an Infinite Solutions campaign (great stuff!) several years ago. However, I had to drop out when parenthood rolled around. And now it's time to jump back in the pool.

I've also played D&D (editions 1-3), Star Trek, Paranoia, and The Fantasy Trip.

I'd like to recreate the Infinite Solutions setting as much as possible for a GURPS meta-campaign if anybody's interested.

See ya around the gaming table!

Welcome to the forum. Games and gamers are locatable. The Player Registry (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=28202#) is your friend.

What is the Infinite Solutions setting? I can't say I have heard of it, and I collet GURPS setting books.

I'm mainly a D&D type with forays into other games and a little Star Trek on the side.

Hello and welcome. Be sure to list yourself on the players registry. If you have a game ready, list it on the campaign invitations. Good luck with your search.

"Infinite Solutions" was not a published GURPS game world. It was a campaign established by John Gourd, whom I met while he was living in Richardson, TX; it is my understanding that he has since retired from Game Mastering.

Infinite Solutions was a "base & mission" type of campaign; the base was in Hawaii, and the missions could take the adventurers anywhere in space, and anywhen in time. One mission might be to secure an Enigma machine from Poland the day before the German invasion, the next could be to escort a princess to her wedding in a fantasy world, and the next something out of Traveller.

You could take any type of character on any mission;

The Mission Coordinator was given the barest of details (a rescue mission where magic works) and was responsible for recruiting team members.

Each player had a stable of characters. You could take any type of character on any mission; it was a great way to push your comfort zone.

In retrospect, John was several years ahead of the GURPS Infinite Worlds setting.
