Greetings all. Well, I got the itch to start running games again. I recently ditched a 3 year career of World of Warcraft, and started playing some old-school video games which started with System Shock 2, then on to Grim Fandango, then Baldurs Gate 2... and the itch started.
At about the same time some of us were discovering World of Warcraft, we were ending up an epic 3-year long D&D 3rd edition campaign which brought the characters from level 1 to into the level 18 range. It was cut short by a few months because the lives and more importantly the schedules of my players were changing drastically. Players were moving to second shift, or being put on week-to-week unpredictable schedules so tabletop gaming became a struggle. When we finally wrapped up the campaign, I had a feeling this would be the start of a long hiatus.
I'm a former RPGA judge with knowledge of dozens of game systems. I've been playing since about 1982, GMing various campaigns since about 1987. Have run D&D (all editions) editions, Shadowrun (all editions), everything from Palladium, Marvel Heroes, Star Wars (original and new), some GURPS, some WW including a couple Mage the Ascension games, BESM, Feng Shui, and some things I came up with myself such as a little gem I came up with called "Gladiator League", a post-apocalyptic game where humans are gone and all players are living robots.
Well, thankfully, my hiatus seems to be coming to an end and next thing I need to do is wipe the thick layer of dust off my massive bookshelves and figure out what to run next. I got two of my original six players committed into a new campaign, but most likely, it's all I'm going to get.
I'm starting up either a Shadowrun, D&D or Traveller:New Age game and found this board looking for some inspiration. There are times when I sit around considering campaign ideas wondering "Haven't I done it all already?" :)
