Short introduction, I'm a lifelong PC and console gamer that has always wanted to start a pen and paper RPG, but hasn't been able to find a game near him. Not really much else to anything.

Welcome aboard. Pen and paper is much better than console. Try the player register first. Games in you area should come up.

Welcome to the community! For finding players the Player Registry (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/memberlist.php) is an invaluable tool and for recruiting players as a DM the Campaign Invitations (http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17) forum is perfect. Please join us in on any of the various topics being discussed in the forums. For best results taking the initiative to contact players in your area should greatly increase your chances of finding others to game with. Many players are in groups that have openings but since they aren't the GM they don't go out of their way to recruit new players for the game. I wish you the best of luck in finding gaming bliss in the near future.

welcome! perhaps you would be most comfortable starting an online game to break you in to the pen and paper mode. ^^ there are a few available. just poke around in the player and campaign registry and you will find some. if you need any help or advice, or even just have questions, feel free to ask, we don't bite... much anyway. ^^

Just depends on when some of us last ate. I see there was a response already from one of the regulars that happens to be somewhere nearby. I'm sure you will be able to get good information on games in your area, if you ask. Welcome and have fun.
