The Drow Outpost map has always been one of the most difficult DDM battlemats to lay claim to, and its rarity is just one reason why it's so popular among competitors. A lot of tricksy bits are hidden in that underground lair.

Interesting that they are bringing this map back for DDM2, despite some of the unbalanced elements they point out. True, the unbalance for one side is matched by unbalance for the other side, but interesting nonetheless.

I like the looks of this map. I'm looking forward to the DDM2 starter kit. Just hope they are able to fix those broken rules by then.

Eh, why buy it if its just going to be in my starter kit? Regardless, I'll grab the starter kit for a nice copy of the rules.

I hadn't thought about looking at Ebay for maps though, good idea.

I've always wanted to do a EPIC sized battle on the living room floor...

The problem with epic sized mats is finding a way to move your pieces around them. I remember playing BattleTech with 18 maps. It was a circus act to move the pieces around the center of the board during parts of the game. Only played with that many maps that one time. Just wasn't worth the trouble. It was a great game though :rolleyes:

Hence the floor with terrain. Just wear socks and watch where you step.

18 maps, eh? That's a heck of a mega map! How big was that?
